NIS America will no longer publish Atlus titles in Europe, the company announced.

Speaking to MCV, NIS America MD Takuro Yamashita said it has become increasingly difficult to work with Atlus since it was purchased by Sega.

“Around ten days ago, we terminated our alliance with Atlus in Europe and the US,” Yamashita told MCV.

“Atlus became very picky about selecting the European publishing partner after it was bought by Sega. It always cherry picked its EU publishing partner based on who offered the highest minimum guarantee on a title by title basis. I noticed that it was very difficult for NIS America to establish an equal-partnership with Atlus.

“Atlus and its European games have contributed a lot to the expansion of NIS America in Europe. I would like to express my greatest appreciation to them for that.”

In addition to not publishing Atlus titles in Europe, titles from NIS America will also not be distributed by Atlus in the Americas.

In the past, NIS America released Atlus titles including Persona 4 Golden (pictured), Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Fafnir Knight, and Persona Q in Europe.

So what does this mean? Sega is going to be the one publishing Atlus games in Europe? Because if that's the case I hope they bring more retail releases, there are too many digital only Atlus games here.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Hopefully Sega will continue with the support for the west (and maybe make it even better)!

That's really bad, means SEGA is ruining Atlus, somebody please buy Atlus from SEGA...

I don't care as long as I get ports.

I feel safe about Atlus games in NA regardless of how picky they might be becoming. I just hope Atlus can still bring their games to EU in some way or other rather than not at all

It means that we are screwed. Most likely.

I really have no faith in Sega.

Well, Atlus games are their own games now, so they better take care of this. Sega is in no position to fuck around, specially if we take into account that Atlus seems to be the most succesfull and prestigious subsidiary they have, and Sega has no money to waste.

I couldnt care less about Sega in its current state.

But Atlus? I would miss them alot.... they need to be saved from sega.

Honestly Id love if sony bought them (if sega was willing to sell).

Well, at least Atlus' games won't risk Nintendo's censorship anymore.

That's not good.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.
