Batman: Arkham HD Collection Coming to PS4 and Xbox One This Year - Report

by Eddie Makuch on April 18, 2016

As rumored, Rocksteady's first two Batman games will be re-released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it seems. A GameStop employee has sent images of an unannounced "Batman HD Collection" to Eurogamer, suggesting the bundle will include new versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009) and Batman: Arkham City (2011), as well as all DLC for both games. This matches up with the report from March 2015.

Batman: Arkham Origins, created outside of Rocksteady by WB Games Montreal, will not be included. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were originally released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as well as PC.

The new versions of those games included with the rumored Batman HD Collection will have "updated visuals" that have been "optimized" for PS4 and Xbox One, according to the leak.

Personal Note: If I haven't played a series yet that I've been wanting to get into while it's being re-released as a collection, I'm all for it.

No Arkham Origins? Pass!

Cool, I'd definitely get that since my 360 broke the same day I started arkham asylum.

It could be the collection of the trilogy....

Nice nevertheless.Though Im going to pass since I already played both games.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I hate incomplete collections.

Origins is a better game then it gets credit for. I certainly had more fun with it than Arkham Knight.

I agree. By far the darkest of the original 3.

Huh, no Origins... Well, I guess they compensate for that by remastering the 2 games in the series that are universally loved and putting them in one package.

Also what the actual hell, these games were already HD to begin with, putting "HD" in the title makes no goddamn sense, unless of course "HD" now stands for "High-er Definition" somehow.

bet: lost

While i'm still waiting for the Batman Arkham Knight GOTY edition.

Would be nice if the HD collection had AK as well.

Aren't those games HD already? Why only two games, instead of the whole collection? If they are going to re-release the original Arkham games, just call them what they are, a remaster, but a collection usually implies the whole series is included.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
