You made me curious, so I checked the most recent Media Create thread. The 3DS was #1.

That aside though, BraLoD's post on the matter in the Famitsu Most Wanted thread was full of questionable wishy-washy reasoning. Of course it was going to get mocked.

By media create yeah, but famitsu and dengeki have the ps4 as #1

don't worry at least you know now that the ps4 is the most popular gaming system in japan and that bralod was right^^ something like that happens to everyone so don't think to much about it :D

No actually, Media Create has 3DS on top but Famitsu as well as Dengeki have PS4 on top for last week.

Media create is the superior tracker so.... Yea doesn't really Matter if Famitsu and Dengeki say otherwise. Both Sony and ninty use MC numbers for their hardware.

I ask myself everytime what numbers are the most likely to be correct, can you provide a link with a clear statement that media create is superior? would be great.

Nah it does matter because the others cover stores that media create don't and visa versa.  

2 trackers > 1 tracker

Guys, my initial response to BraLoD wasn't meant to turn into a drawn out discussion. Definitely not from my side and I am sure that BraLoD wasn't interested either, because he has already had enough of it.

We could go into semantics for everything, but in the end it would be sales discussion of the Japanese market in a thread about the USA. There's really nothing to gain from such a discussion and there are a lot of things that speak against having such a discussion.

A serious reply from Rol?!

Media Create competes with Enterbrain's Famitsu and MediaWorks' Dengeki PlayStation in the market for providing Japanese game sales data. Because there are three different tracking firms, there will always be three different sales numbers for any software and hardware title. Which company to trust is a matter of debate, as none of the three major trackers are ever 100% accurate and whoever tracks the highest amount of sales for a given title fluctuates.

Nintendo cites Media Create sales data during its conferences and presentations.[2]
