No actually he does have a point. Sony doesnt have a good track record as far as keeping mascots goes. Crash and Spyro were two of the biggest ps1 mascots and Im still confused as to why Sony ever let them go non-exclusive, it gave them a hold on Nintendo's market.

Third parties gave them a hold on Nintendo's market, not the mascot.  It turns out you don't need a console mascot to sell your system, judging by the PS2.

See? This is why I made that other pos,t "Ratchet 5 and Jak 5," because this is what would happen to them if Naughty Dog and Insomniac sell them. Now do you understand? Sheesh, so much criticism, and wrong assumptions.

Ok, I just watched the video.  The gameplay actually sounds like a great idea, even if they are releasing it on too many consoles and it doesn't look great.

Still, what the hell does that game have to do with Ratchet and Jak?  Just because they sold Spyro and Crash does not mean Insomniac and Naughty Dog are just franchise builders that sell their property.  There is no evidence of them selling those franchises.  Yes, a decade ago it was stupid of them to sell Crash and Spyro...MAYBE.  Who really knows?  Who really cares?  Their current games will be great, and no one has heard any rumors about this.  Why are you even talking about this?

The other thread was you trying to tell us that we should be worried about the work in progress games.  I see now that you have learned to edit your posts and actually edited that part out!  Ohhhh, that's clever!  Too bad I quoted you first, huh?

As has been said, both of those franchises are owned by Sony as is Naughty dog, so they aren't going to be sold.

Sony probably doesn't give a damn about losing Crash Bandicoot because the series fell off a long time ago. It's not a hot IP anymore. Same goes for Spyro. Ratchet, Jak, and Sly Cooper are much more popular right now and will never go multi-platform as they are first party titles.

Actually, Crash only went worse AFTER Sony sold them. In fact, all of Sony's Crash Bandicoot games were better than their predecessors, so there was no need to sell them. It was a perfectly good franchise.

Just because Jak is owned by Sony, doesn't mean that they wont sell them. In fact, all of the Jak and Daxter games did slightly worse than their predecessors based on the reviews. Unlike the Crash games, which did better than their predecessors before Sony sold the franchises off. Therefore, there is more of a reason to sell the Jak franchise. Jak 4 may or may not be made by Naughty Dog, if there is going to be a Jak 4.

Insomniac sold Spyro when Spyro was at its best. Therefore, Insomniac could sell Ratchet. Yes, Ratchet and Jak are owned by Sony. But Crash and Spyro were too, and they sold them off. We don't know. Only Insomniac and Naughty Dog know.

And never say never. Nobody ever thought Spyro and Crash would go muli platform. Even Sonic went multi platform. Sly, Ratchet, and Jak could be sold off. Nothing is preventing them from being sold. End of story.

Crash and Spyro were not owned by Sony when they were sold, nor were they ever owned by Sony at any prior point in time.

Sonic went multi-platform after Sega left the console business and became strictly a developer/publisher. Jesus.

There is something preventing them from being sold, like, umm....THE FACT THAT SONY OWNS THEM! Insomniac has no say in Ratchet being sold because it isn't their IP to begin with. The same goes for Naughty Dog and the Jak series. They are both owned by Sony.

Several people have already explained this to you, but you keep repeating the same crap over and over and over again.

From a purely hypothetical perspective, you can't say that (pretty much) any of Sony's franchises could not be sold. Unlike Nintendo, most of Sony and Microsoft's developers are distinct buisness units that are seperate from SCE; this means that you can (effectively) sell each of these developers without having much of a negative impact on the structure of your company. Whether or not they would do this is largely questionable ... Unless Sony drops the price of the PS3 to $400, and SCE is forced by Sony to build operating capital to balance out the losses, I don't see much reason to sell any developers ATM.

Ohhhhh, so now on this thread they are good games when Sony publishes them?  I see...I'm glad you must have read what I said, then.  So stop telling us we should be concerned about Insomniac and Naughty Dog.  And stop saying Jak is declining...it went from 90% to 85%.  Technically, it got worse if you adhere to percentages that closely, but obviously Jak 3 was still a great game.

Anyway, if they are sold that would just mean that they haev something better to work on, like they've shown for the PS3.  Still, NO EVIDENCE suggests that they are going to sell these franchises.  This is really a non-topic, but you keep bringing it up...over and over...

I never said any of those franchises were bad when Sony published them. I only criticised the franchises after Sony sold them off. You are making assumptions again. And Jak did decline. But you assume I think he went from good to worse. Technically he did, but even the lesser famed Jak 3 did good. Jak 1 just did slightly better.

Wow, you have absolutely no idea what I was saying in my previous thread... At all... The entire concept of the thread is different then you think it is. It was a prediction thread, not a statement thread, or fact thread.

Except you throw out your predictions as if they were fact, and expect everyone to agree with you.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

What does it have to do? That's what will happen to Jak and Ratchet if they get sold off. That's it. I wanted all my posts to be nice and simple. I didn't want to repeat myself a million times. I only do so after your replies. You don't even know what I'm talking about. Insomniac and Naughty Dog could sell them off. We don't know. Stop saying they wont because maybe the will. I never said they will, because maybe they wont. Anything could happen. And nobody cares. Only you care. Notice that I only repeat myself after you make those stupid replies, assuming entirely different things. No, why are you talking about this? Let it go. It's only a prediction. It means nothing. I didn't want to have to repeat myself. It's you who kept repeating himself.

Actually, I didn't edit anything out. I just re-worded everything. And go delete that post.

imo crash always sucked! this is nothing new!

I am WEEzY. You can suck my Nintendo loving BALLS!

Can't say. Correct. Prediction only.
