Sexy characters aren't allowed in video games. We all know that.

But there is in this one!  Praise the Lord and Japan.

This has more to do with how games are rated in the west, rather than tangible pressure from the west (i.e., this change wasn't spawned from complaints). It seems that this minor change allowed them to keep the game within their desired rating, whereas not changing it would have led to a more mature rating (and thus, less sales).

It's a shame that creators have to conform to ratings, but rating systems have been a part of many entertainment mediums for a long time.

And I actually used to be under the impression that "M-rated" games sold better in the west. I mean look at the ratings of the top western sellers. Do folks here somehow believe that the likes of GTA and COD would've sold better with a "T-rating"?

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

The teen or everyone ratings under the ESRB simply enable a broader audience to obtain the game compared to a mature game (17 and up).  It's also important to note that it seemingly did not take much to keep Star Ocean at their desired rating, whereas GTA would probably have to change dramatically to obtain a teen rating (which in turn would severely affect its success), so it's difficult to compare the two in this situation.

What's the real issue?

You still get to see this videogame characters pants. What's the actual problem?

Unneeded changes caused by the tyranical conservativeness of a country that extends its ever enveloping ideals to borders in which it should not directly influence.

Annita S and the SJW brigades are anything but conservative- and that is where Western pressure is coming from today-  And those groups are hardly conservatives-  they are about as left as it gets-    not sure why yo wold try to insinuate that eadical feminism and conservatives are one in yhe same

Additionally, the "who cares about "fill in the blank"  because it is not important to me" argument does not really add anything to a discusssion-  why would anyone who does not care about an issue post the same over and over again?

SJW victory!

Then again Granny Panties sounds wrong. lol!

It's a really minor issue, but i can't help feel why they felt the change was needed. Seemed rather pointless.

Oh well, it changes nothing.

Why censor when most people haven't even heard of Star Ocean?

eh. Frankly this is just more reason for me to learn Japanese. I'd rather have the direct source game than wait for localization anyways. From poor translations to changes made because they might offend the flavor of the month SJW there are plenty of reasons to take that step and buy a Rosetta Stone package.

It's not about not seeing panties or growing breast on computer generated characters, frankly it's about getting as close to the source game as possible.

This was done in the Japanese release too.

If anyone gets fired over this, will GamerGate be to blame as well?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

so its just not Nintendo who does this? impossible xD Seriously im against censorship, but sometimes some games take it too far i think, maybe. Ehh
