To be honest I don't think this should be news in the sense that this really has nothing to do with gaming. 

From the sounds of it this girl was totally the type that was all cool with sexualized gaming anyway which is the fucking irony ... these doofuses decided to get pissed off at someone who probably agreed with them 9/10 times and had nothing to do with what they were originally angry about anyway. 

Probably, kind of like the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists probably should've kept their mouth shut too. 

But that raises a pretty disturbing scenario here ... that certain group of "idiot gamers" (lets call them that for convienance sake) feel so upset by some tweets that they decide to dig into every aspect of this person's personal life in an attempt to get her fired/publicly shamed. 

Maybe some people need to grow the fuck up. Video games isn't a religion and even if it was, there's no reason to launch a crusade against someone in this manner. 

They're basically the ISIS of gaming and it's not just in these situations I'm seeing this, recently Jimmy Kimmel did a skit making fun of some gamers and he received death threats for it, tons of them.

It's time we stoped tolerating people, not only being dicks on the internet, but using it's cloack of annonymity to destroy peoples lives. This went too far, and the solution to it should not be: 'Well keep your mouth shut, then.' That is exactly the mentality that enables bullys and abusers to do what they do.

You happen to disagree with someone, fine, the appropriate reaction to that is not 'I'll take that bitch down', people need to learn that.

Considering the topmost harassing Twitter tweet on her feed doesn't seem inclined to claim opposition to GG, aaaand there's an article relating to the original source saying that 'the SJWs' are trying to deny the 'recent revelations' it does seem probable that GamerGate (or, rather, 'people totally not tied to GamerGate!') are the catalyst.  Well, that and the article in the OP referred to her as 'Zoe Quinn 2.0,' and it's pretty blunt who was the driving force during 'Zoe Quinn 1.0.'

I agree.  I've seen certain groups (not going to say whom) destroy lives just because someone disagreed with what they said.  I don't want to live in a society where saying "no, I don't agree with that" is enough to get someone to destroy everything a person holds dear and have it be considered okay to do so by the majority of society -- as long as you believe in the 'right' things.

If they counted the other threads on that site as news when everyone was blaming Nintendo then this should count as well according to that logic.

Honestly no matter what though she shouldn't have even had a side job like that to begin with if she was working as a PR spokesperson for a giant family-friendly company such as Nintendo. At the end of the day I feel like this comes down on her. (Not to victim blame or anything, either way she shouldn't have been targeted at all, especially not for no reason, but it makes you wonder what she was thinking would happen by having a second job like that while working at Nintendo). It's really shitty that Gamergate went after her for no reason and is really fucking stupid, but even if none of this happened i'm sure the truth would have been revealed later on anyway. So either way she would have gotten fired, this just made it happen sooner but it's not like it wouldn't have happened anyway if this never happened.

So, if people aren't inclined to claim opposition to GG, they're part of the movement? Also, didn't SJWs turn gamergate into a sexism/mysogyny issue?

SJWs are pretty much a bunch of people who dig into private lives of people to ruin them so I won't be surprised that it's them. We are both free to believe whatever we want since we have no way to prove anything,
