Forums - Gaming - What video game gave you the most hype/excitement this gen so far?

This generation, it definitely has to be Mario Kart 8! I waited to purchase the Wii U until the MK8 bundle came out!

Around the Network

I would have to say No Man Sky. Because it's a new IP that's actually innovative. It has this never been done scary/excited feeling attached to it whenever I read it's name or something about it. I'm a sucker for a good sci fi game. A close second would be FFXV. It looks really good and they're trying a bunch of new stuff with it.

God Of War IV leaks have me incredibly hyped for the game, with the series being among my top favourite franchises in video games and the leaked gameplay details sound amazing and the colourful concept art looks good.

strangely enough atm its FFXV

FFXV and Kingdom Hearts III since Sony E3 2014 aka best conference ever followed by the Uncovered event. Hoping for a similar event for Kingdom Hearts III.

And Uncharted 4 of course.

I have to agree with FF 15 and KH3. Though, my hype for KH3 still holds up to today unlike FF XV for reasons. I'd also include FF 7 Remake. Those 3 were the one's I yelled and shed tears the most for. As for an event similar to Uncovered...I doubt it. Nomura specifically said why they don't do ATR's like FF 15, which was just simply focusing on developing the game, plus FF is SE's biggest franchise. The best event we'd get is D23 or the 10th anniversary priemere event in 2012 promoting Dream Drop Distance with an opening movie and the series in general. Not much was shown there. Just a movie then interactions with fans and playing the DDD demo. Nomura left that early because he had to go back to work. I expect news to be the same with previous KH games. E3, D23, TGS, Jump Festa. Then interviews from Famitsu, Dengeki, etc. There most likely will be an event for the 15th anniversary next year, but in terms of promotion and content like Uncovered...I doubt it.
