Forums - Nintendo - What do you expect from Retro's next Wii U game?

At this moment I would be very surprised if it comes to WiiU.

It could happen though, since they spent a lot of time creating a new engine for the wiiu so maybe they will take profit of that work and release it on both consoles.

Is not gonna be Metroid or a new DK platformer, maybe the Diddy Kong racing rumour is true, or maybe a new IP, that would be awesome.

but of course there are still a few people who cant fathom the idea of NX releasing this year.

Even if the NX is a 2017 release, I could easily see a totally barren 2017 for the Wii U til the NX comes out. Star Fox Zero soon and Zelda end of year(??) and then the typical Nintendo drought in the last year of the console(although the Wii U has had severe droughts throughout). Or I could see an end of year release for the NX with a simultaneous release of Zelda for the NX/Wii U just like Twilight Princess on Gamecube/Wii but the console would be going up against heavy hittin AAA third party titles(FFXV, COD, Fifa etc etc) on competing platforms. I don't really see a happy ending here for Nintendo either way unless they come up with a gimmick that blows the casual gamer's mind like the Wii did.

Twilight Princess HD, Pokken, Star Fox Guard. Nintendo has still a ton of Wii U games to announce.

what some people dont realize about having things like Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid, 3D Mario as Wii U exclusives in 2016/2017 means that we will have to wait 3-5 years before they release on NX which puts them in the same shitty situation as Wii U where the big hitters are too few and far in between.

Skyward Sword was 2011, Galaxy 2, Other M, DKC Returns was 2010. They can launch NX in 2017 and before a new AC and Retro game on Wii U.
