Well then, the game's already failed. The PS4 might be selling a lot but I don't see all those people buying the game especially after the way Square Enix has treated it's fans the last decade and the poor quality of the Final Fantasy XIII games. I don't have the exact figures but I don't thnk that the install base of the PS4 and the Xbox One will that much greater than what the install base of the PS3 and Xbox360 was at the time of XIII's release. Despite all the hype and the wait, that game has failed to reach 10 million (when only considering PS3 and Xbox360 versions and according to VGChartz numbers). Plus the fact that even the most popular of Final Fantasies barely crossed that line nearly 20 years after its release, and after a multitude of releases, many of which were at low and discounted prices.
Most likely, the game will get sequels and will make back money with those.
It'll do that easily, good or not.

Well, this is technically their biggest game in a very long time, so expecting 10m sales is not unreasonable. But yeah, how on Earth did they spend so much money that they need to sell 10m copies just to make even?
i think it can do 2ml on xb1 and 6ml on ps4. It would need to release on NX or pc to reach 10ml.
Trying to outsell FFVII huh? It's not impossible but highly unlikely. Look at previous FF numbers. They barely break 5M anymore. But with all the hype from the event last night with some of the biggest names in everything pouring into the games development, it might hit 10M. But don't get your hopes up. It would need support on PS4, PS4.5, Xbone, PC and NX for this to be achieved.
Considering the reation ppl had to the event yesterday this is very possible. As long as the game is good and reviews well it will definetly reach those numbers, if the game sucks then itll have ahard time doing that.
Lofty number. I wonder how much of it is an absolute though. Surely they intend to do some sort of DLC for the game that will allow for that number to be in a state of flux.
