That being said, while they may not have been what introduced them, they are the first to have a lot of big budget AAA games utilize them as the primary input for controls. People don't give credit when they haven't seen the concept in action they only remember past efforts for most part, PS1 didn't take off because of CDs for one it took off because of the console's overall execution, PS1 was written off by many media outlets at the time who expected Sega to bury Sony. Fast forward today people will only speak in retrospective of how great the PS1 was.
It's no different to what you're doing now, you're speaking on concepts and so on after they have taken off and made a mark when at the time no one saw the potential in the concepts due to past efforts.
