So far there's two strong candidates for the title:
· Metal Gear Solid V: awesome gameplay which was filled with innecesary and repetitive sidequests, main missions that can be breaken down in two types (kill/capture this unit, go to this specific point), and incomplete story with a dumb plot twist that goes nowhere. I don't know what they were thinking. I never liked Peace Walker much, but there's so much content and diversity in there as opposed to MGSV, it's incredible how things turned out.
· Dead RIsing 3: decent gameplay with a large (albeit dead) city to explore, but the game's soul was lost somewhere. I don't know if it is the evidence that Inafune was needed, or that the team lacked direction altogether. The game doesn't really evolve much, and the story is simply atrocious; cheap and easy bosses (although some of them were very fun to battle), useless time constrains (it's like the dev didn't understand why they were there in the first place) and lack that colour touch from the supermarket/casino setting. This game alone kicked out Dead Rising as one of my favourite franchises ever, because...ugh. It's so disappointing it hurts.

That stay on Gas Stations.
