No idea. Could go either way, but I'm betting NX'll be weaker. Doesn't need to be stronger to succeed.

A better question would be how probable is the NX to be more powerful than the PS4?
The PS4 has AMD's most powerful APU and there is no rumor/speculation of AMD having a more powerful APU in the works.
Just by the nature of APUs versus CPU/GPU it would be impossible for Nintendo to have a cpu/discrete gpu combo without the cost going way up. Would you buy a $500 NX? Unless AMD has some secret APU design but they are not that good at keeping things secret.

Well if the NX includes that patent for using (SPU) Supplemental Processing Unit, then adding your own external gpu would easily make the NX more powerful. This might be the most important aspect of Nintendo's most recent patents that they need to include on the NX. Essentially it would allow for the platform to evolve and stay relevant even in the face of new systems from their competitors.

Most people's views of this generation is very weird! So many assume the Nintendo NX will barely be more powerful than the XbOne only, as if surpassing the PS4 is some major feat to do. Once again surpassing any hardware in the 8th generation isn't an issue.

Well the NX is probably gonna run the new AMD Polaris architecture so I'm 99% sure it will be more powerful then the PS4.

The PS4.5 will just be a upgrade for 4K video content not for gaming. The only improvement you will see during gaming is the amount of power usage,heat and noise.

Maybe they will trow a faster HDD (2TB?) in there too.
