Will just have to agree to disagree. I want more super hero movies but I don't want them like this. I don't want 2-3 huge comic book story lines jammed into a 3-hour session. This movie removed all the greatness from the doomsday storyline and turned it into another generic villian. If this is standard your looking for in super hero movies then you have very low standards. In fact I suspect you would have liked this movie regardless of how bad they destroyed the orginal stories. You seem to be more concerned with having more super movies not having good ones.

You should stick to reading the comics and forget about any other medium if you don't want them to ever be adapted differently.

I'm ok with adapting. So many of the other comic book movies have done a great job. In fact this is the first super hero movie I've complained about when it comes to just taking a dump all over the source material. I just prefer they adapt to make it better not adapt so that you can cram as many story lines as your can into a movie and try and play catch up with Marvel. I have no idea why DC feels they need to hurry up and release the JL. Take your time like Marvel did and release a quality product.

I didn't feel they crammed too much into this movie. There was one story, and it was told well, from my perspective.

I've also been a Superman comics fan for over two decades, and I don't understand the hate and bashing this movie is getting.

Batman is the only thing good about this movie despite him doing certain things that Batman would not do. In truth the movie was sloppy and boring except for Batman. The critics were spot on this time.

Only nostalgy can make you think Reeves was a good Superman, for this era it was good, but when you look at it now, his acting was so bad. ( plus his physic and suit were horrible)

If the movies and his acting were so bad, why are they so cherished? Is the Godfather a piece of shit simply because it's aged? The fact is, Superman 1 and 2 were the only Superman movies in history that are highly regarded as great movies. Reeve is the ONLY Superman who has been praised both critically and commercially as well. Every other Superman movie since has been met with either a "meh" or a "pure bullshit" reaction.

Superman is suppose to be a "boy scout"... not some mental case who's past wakes him at night. Reeve captured that perfectly and that, along with writting that also understood the charcater, is why those first two movies are still the only great Superman movies.

Because we had less expectations 20 years ago for super heroe movies, you can be sure something like Dragon Ball Evolution 30 years ago would have been praised the same. The fact is nostalgy is the only reason why some people would say he is a better superman. It was the first decent Superman and the first decent super heroe movie so it's not a big deal to be praised when there are no real challengers to be compared to. It was good for this time, it is a cult movie because it set a new standard before Spiderman raises the level by far. The same can be said for al ot of movie that didnt age well.

The Godfather has nothing to do with this, it didnt need FX and it's not a super heroe movie, you can still watch it and you wont feel it's too old.

Superman has many faces, it seems you didnt read a lot of comics, you only know Reeve's Superman.

THe only great for you yes, because of nostalgy.

No, it doesn't mean anything. If they replace Zack Snyder or pull the plug on the JL movies, then it means something. In the meantime, people are enjoying the movie and the movie is making money for which I'm glad. We need more of these types of movies - more complex superhero movies.

Exactly. The Doomsday plot could have been saved for MoS2 or the first JL movie. He was defeated way too easily too and the fight seemed rush just to have a super villain strong enough to you know what to Superman. Very poorly executed.

There were two at the very least. Batman vs Superman and Doomsday storyline. Then they kind of previewed the JL story and they threw in wonder woman. As just an overall movie it's fine a good 6/10 for me. Which is an ok movie but I most likely wont be watching it twice. My problem is they could have done so much more with this. The Doomsday story line should have been it's own thing and part 2 of the superman story. They should have had Affleck do is own Batman but an older Batman like they did here.

Then there was the issue of how Batman wanted to kill Superman for barely any reason at all. Batman is very smart and so is Superman yet they were both played like children into fighting each other it was the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time. There were so many ways they could have adjusted that point of the story to make the squabble feel more real. Like use red krytonite to make Superman evil for a bit and that will give Batman a legit reason. Instead they came up with the story they did were even the character Lex can't beleive how easy it was to trick them.

Batman v Superman has now passed Ant-Man and Thor domestically and Thor and X-Men: The Last Stand worldwide.

OK, I've seen the movie, and my low expectations was justified.

Lots of spectacles. +

No humor. -

Superman had no characterization. -

Batman is not the worlds greatest detective in this movie. -

Well do you consider it game profitable, if the game company that made the game does not see a profit on the game? Also I will say, I like arguing you with you, respect you more.

You and those using the same stance as you haven't shown whether or not the company hasn't seen profit on the movie that's the point you've admitted you can't prove it right now, even the rumoured figure in your link can be questioned and it may even be much lower for the budget.

It hasnt, the producer gets around 50% of the box office on USA and mor eor less 25% of it Worldwide. If the 400 M budget ppl say is the BvS total budget (even tough Warner keeps saying tis only 250M insiders indicate it was around the 400M mark) then this movie needs around 900M-1B worldwide (considering a 50%USA/50% rest of the world split) to break even. If the actual budget is 250M then it breaks even at around 600-700M.
