If it was a Muslim, pretty sure they wouldn't say he/she had mental illnesses. And I'm sure this would be breaking news, with people quickly calling the person a terrorist.

Want to lock him up longer? Then get rid of the whole mental health / insanity defense, something that just about anyone can fall back on like most mass shooters instead of facing the music.

Then when one of these nuts goes on a rampage everyone wants to know what happened and they rush to blame guns, society, pretty much anything BUT the person responsible for the killings.

I remember affluenza being considered an actual excuse for when rich people do crap. Seriously isn't unfair. 

 

Even if the person has mental illnesses, they should get the time they deserve. If they have ACTUAL mental issues( heavy autism, down syndrome, etc) then they should go to a facility that will help them with their issues.
