Forums - Gaming - Xbox Survey Asks If You'd "Sell Back" Digital Games for 10% Purchase Price

Would you sell them back for that amount?

Yes 40 21.05%

No 150 78.95%

Total:190

10% hahaha. I get 50% for physical games at my local store provided they've only been out for a few months.

Sure people trade in games at Gamestop for less, yet they take up physical space and it's either that or the trash can when you sell your console. (If you're too lazy to sell them online)

The better option would be to just hold onto your games.  They increase in value after a few generations or shorter (if it is a rare gem game that people want but not many copies produced).  I view it almost in the same light as collecting sports cards.

95% of my games are digital, just because i cant buy physical games where i live.

But i cant see any benefit from buying digital, the only one that i could think of is the fact that you can preload your games before release so you can play them the exact moment that they are released.

Digital games are overpriced, cant be traded, cant loan it to your friends, when the server goes down you pretty much are fucked, i mean the list goes on and on...

Ironically in your first sentence you gave a great benefit to buying digital.

Also, I'm not sure about PS4. But on Xbox One you and a friend can link your Xbox Ones. 1 person buys the game and the other can play it at the same time for free. I have some mates that alternate buying games. Effectively they buy a game for £25 on launch day.

It would be awesome to have the option to sell back games, but 10% is to low. I would do it for 15-25% ;)

True, I generally keep my games. Yet yearly franchise games, might as well get a few bucks for that instead of storing them.
Although I doubt I would get anything for NHL 12 considering it only cost $1

10% is terrible. If you want to get something back for your games just buy physical (typically for less than digital) then get 50% (or more) of your value back by selling on EBay.

Does even Gamestop pay back that little? That's just horrible. With digital games taking up no physical space, money is practically the only reason to sell digital games, and 10 % is a joke.

I dont see it as a benefit of digital games per se, more like having no choice and having to deal with it because i live in a third world country.

If i had the choice, i would go physical 100% of the times when available.

You can also share games with the Ps4, but it is too limited.

Whahahhaha

10% ... thats dis-respectfull.

Needs to be atleast 33%,... hopefully more, like 50%.

It's amazing how you currently get nothing for your digital games yet getting 10% back is now a bad thing.

I guess makeing 4$ - 6$ back is something... It ll only mean you can never play that game again,... totally worth those $.

It should be higher than 10%, if it wants to take a bite out of physical sales, and you know it.
