I think it looks really cool.
Assuming this is real, I'm worried about the non-physical buttons though. I've never tried any touchscreen with 'haptic buttons' so I would have to try it out, to see what it feels like.
I don't see btw. why they wouldn't just put physical buttons. Especially since they are using a freeform screen already. I mean, it's literally the place you put your fingers on. There's no benefit in having them be on screen, unless they feel better than physical buttons, for some reason.
Second thing that worries me, is that it doesn't look very comfortable to hold, but then again, the gamepad looks like a monster and is one of my favourite controllers, and I find it super comfortable.
Please No.. This "thing" looks awful.

They'd have to have clip-on buttons as a concession I would have to think.
The bigger issue for me I think is if this is legit, then what the fuck is this going to cost? It sounds expensive ... haptic feedback and that doesn't look like a small screen it's also a custom style of screen (free form).
Either the system will be gimped as a result hardware wise or the price will be quite high.
To be honest too, Nintendo really did not create any super compelling game experiences using the Wii U Game Pad screen, so to double down on the concept ... I dunno.
I think it fake because it basically same like patent, but patents really look like actual product. Personally I think looks very interesting, bare on mind if this is a legit photo this is photo of development version of controller, at launch definitely would be looked very different.
Maybe you can remove the prongs from the controller which have physical button overlays on them? Shrugs.
Hope Pro Controller 2 is much improved if this is anything like the real deal.
