I mean if you're advertising a mobile game it's probably not a good sign for consumers. It'll probably end up near the top of the download charts in Japan simply by virtue of how these apps go viral.

I don't understand...

So it's the best to no promote the app?

I've read in interviews that most mobile developers think it's unwise to do any marketing for a mobile game until the game is actually out: something about the mobile market being far more impulse-driven, especially for free to play products.

I've looked at the various trailers for it, in multiple languages, and comments are disabled on all of them.

Jeez, people, it can't be that bad.

Youtube Comments is a very special place, my friend.

Hardcore Nintendo fans who don't want the Mobile outreach, wouldn't be kind. Not kind at all, my friend :(.

Such are the ways of the net...

It seems like the social interaction for now is the question/answer part, which is the "ask.fm" part I was refering before. I also notice there are thematic photo contests (this week is photos with cats I think, bloody cats xDD). But, yeah, I think that integrating simple MP games between friends could be a great addition in the future.

So after reading this interview from TIME with Reggie (http://time.com/4261043/nintendo-miitomo-mobile-app-ios-android-release-date/), I'm very sure that they will add multiple mini-games, including multiplayer ones. Look at this:

"We’re also looking at Miitomo as a long-term opportunity. We expect that the Miitomo experience will expand and evolve over time through updates. It’s a service that we will continue to add to. In that sense, looking to quickly make a judgment on the impact of Miitomo may not tell the full story like it would with a traditional packaged game."

Apps like these evolve after updates. It's why Snapchat is so relevant. Those effects you see pop up are no accident. It's genius. The Miitomo we see now is just the foundation. It might make sense for them to keep it as simple as possible at first, and then once the platform has a large installed base, they can update the app with that multiplayer mini-game so that everyone is well used to navigating the app and it's features by that point. People are still discovering what Miitomo does and adding friends and such. It's probably smarter to wait until everyone has people to actually play with first before releasing it, which is the smart leveled way to handle things when you consider all the layers this app has already.

Good show, Nintendo. Very exciting.

Reveal an app that no one wants, stop talking about it and release it without a word. Nintendo is doing mobile like a CHAMP.

Oh, THAT'S where I know you from!

Dude, your youtube videos are legit. Like I'm really critical of youtube because most channels that think they're good are shit, but yours is legit. Seriously good work. The puppet gimmick works and your scripts feel really natural and not forced or cheesy or awkward.

You're sarcasm is misguided though. People will want Miitomo, they stopped talking about it because they plan to make it big organically, and they the day isn't over yet. I'm sure we'll see Miitomo ads by the end of the week.

Great channel, though. Fantastic stuff truly. First time I've said that to a user here.

Hey, thanks!  That means a lot!

Nintendo of Japan disables their youtube comments by default. This might be the same case.

No, not bad. Just that I don't want to add another channel to keep track of. x )
