 You are right. oculus and HTC are aware that they are making a product for the bleeding edge. Oculus statet several times a measily 1 Million CV1s in the lifetíme of the Headset would be amazing. They are there to push the technology and set standards and once the industry blows up all 3 will be the big winners. 

PSVR will definetly be the most mainstream of the 3. While the other 2 will be pushing the technology forward.

Yeah thats how i see it also.. people will continue to push the agenda that PSVR isnt as powerful, and PS4 isnt as powerful... but it really doesnt matter, because the PSVR is aimed at PS owners. as long as the content is there and the VR is technically adequate (which I believe it is), I think its going to do very well.

I'm thinking at this point it's only fair that a megathread is created just for PSVR or the number of threads gets toned down a but because I honestly don't see it begin fair to constantly spam PSVR threads daily now but not for NX (because of the recent rules against it).

If we apply the same rules, there should be at least 300 psvr threads before an official one and even after the offiicial one, there should be several "but this is so important it deserves its own thread even if it's a rumour" threads.

Microplay says they don't know if they'll get any units for launch.

low supply of pre-orders + scalpers


sony did the same with the ps4 too. they released pre-orders only to a number they were 100% confident they could achieve. as we got closer to release date and their first shipment numbers probably became more solid they opened up more pre-orders at least 2 or 3 more times.

basically. great news to see things sell out but doesn't read too much into it either.
