Forums - Sony - Sony Responds To Microsoft’s Invite To Connect Xbox One And PS4 Networks

Wait, would this mean that PS4 would get teh powerz of the CLOWDZ too?

(sorry, couldn't resist)

Couldn't be more vague if they tried.

Looking forward to this new vision. Good to see MS pushing it further.

I wonder if they will do cross-platform with their older consoles? Diablo 3 for example could be patched to support it.

Halo the Master Chief Collection is in dire need of a boost in players, cross platform with the 360 games+player base perhaps?

Of all examples, you picked the worst....

Diablo 3 could NOT support cross generation play. The ps3/360 physically are unable to fully run the game. The cube of Kanai would probably melt the old consoles....

Sony seemed a little dodgy to talk about Microsoft there, but this still shows that the future is bright for the concept.

Vise versa. I don't believe Microsoft specified Sony/Playstation either

As far as I'm aware, Sony has always wanted to play cross play with Xbox but mircrosoft as always been against the idea. Sonolaystation has just done cross play with PC gamers instead. I wonder why Xbox is having the sudden change of mind?
Nethertheless this is good news and will be good fun to play competitive games with Xbox and PS players along with PC aswell.

There was probably another FXIV fiasco in the making. That's my guess.

Now Nintendo just needs to add itself in once it gets games that will share with other networks.

As if that will ever happen. LOL

If Sony wants more sales they shouldn't. Reason being, if gamers who have two different platforms can go online together and they dont have to buy the uniform console of choice. This will create a bed of options so it doesnt cost Microsoft gamers who choose multiplayer multiplats. It will disrupt future dlc deals with major third party. Microsoft started that war and now they want to yield and open up their online? Microsoft is getting beaten so badly by Sony that they dont want prospective gamers to have to choose between the online of the two companies, because for most thats the deal breaker and they all still switched back to Sony.
