I mean Hero Mode has been a staple since 2011 in essentially every game except for OoT and MM3D for some reason. Well, and Triforce Heroes if you wanna count that. I like Hero Mode because it increases difficulty without being too artificial about it. Anything else would probably feel too fake to me to be worth it. Although if what Aonuma is implying is true there may be a sort of level system for enemies to encourage you along a set path, which may mean a true difficulty system is an option.
