Forums - Gaming - Project Giant Robot future still up in the air, Says Miyamoto

Honestly, I not interested in this game at all, so while it would be nice to see this not die out completely, I won't be playing it regardless :p

Thread title should be "Project Giant Robot future still up in the air, Says Miyamoto"

I'm sure it'll get reincorporated somehow. Imagine Project Giant Robot as a minigame on Nintendo Land 2 for NX.

bet: lost

Game looked awful back at E3 so whatever they do with that game is irrelevant to me.

I admire that they're still thinking about what to do with the project, but I wonder if it would just be better to cancel it and move on to something else.

EDIT: Nevermind

It could make a neat mini-game in some other game but it's difficult to see it being it's own standalone thing.

I do like Miyamoto experimenting on games like this. Sure, it may not always be great, but I think its cool he's thinking of trying something different.

Honestly wouldn't mind if this pulled a "Project Guard" and become apart of another game or some kind of minigame.

I liked it as a concept, but it was ultimately not functioning well enough for me to be interested. The reliance on the Gamepad for balance was a major misstep. It forces the game to be very slow, and it makes a versus mode impossible. There are several ways they could have made this better, but one way it could have easily been better is have the Gamepad be a cockpit view like SF0 so that the gameplay could be very fluid and you can have added depth to Gamepad integration. Like shooting at the rival cockpit or vital parts of the robot.

I don't mind seeing this as a mini game sometime, or I gues retooling it and bundling it with another game like they did with Star Fox Guard.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Just scrap it and focus on something worthwhile...
