If it had the same games with some third party support and same price at wii us power then it could have sold even mo0re than the WII did.

A wii as powerful as the wii u would have been perfect, at the very least it could have gotten more third party support. The wii had great sales mainly because of the wii control gimmick so I'm not sure how a better hardware would have affected the sales.

Yes... but the question is whether or not it would be profitable for them. The Wii was sold for 250, compared to the XBox 360 going for 3-400. So they likely could have sold a system on par with the 360 for about 300 (they'd probably have to make some changes like decreasing the ram).

They'd probably be giving up on about 75-100 dollars a unit at first though. Which would have equated to a few billion dollars they'd have to make on software sales... which I don't think they'd have made up with software sales.

If it was still $250, it probably would have been more successful. The big reason people moved away from Wii was because it lacked notable content PS360 were getting. But, it would have been less profitable.

Wii U could have been more successful if it launch for $249 and didn't include the tablet control.

The wii u's hardware specs were non existant untill 3-4 years after the wii released and would be expensive as hell if released in 2009/2010.

for $299 in 2006, they could get around half the horse power of a x360.

A $50 difference wouldn't have a huge impact. Also, people didn't move away from the wii.

O_o... dafuq?  The 360 launched in 2005 with the harddriveless model priced at $300.

Core gamers moved away from Wii when it became obvious PS360 were offering better content there. That support also dried up relatively quick.

It would be more expensive, so I would say it would be near the same?
