I've never liked dungeons, but when I think back on it, that is what the Zelda game mainly is :p

I would probably go with both :p

Dungeons, by far. Which is why I'm not a big fan of Majora's Mask.

it may not have been your intention but you came off as immediately saying SS sucked and that if Zelda U was like that what would I think. You don't know my stance on SS and that's just not a great way to ask that question. Lol. Just word it better next time.

Oh, well I was actually saying SS had a good story and if Zelda U has as good a story what would you think. ^_^

I know it is hard to read people on the internet sometimes.

Yeah I thought that was sarcasm you were throwing at me.

Anyways, if it's a good story I'll be happy. If it's a bad story I'll be upset. But IMO, I just hope it beats all the other Zelda games in terms of story. (To a mass appeal)

Zelda needs a fair mix of both aspects. I need my time chilling and exploring in Kakariko but also can't forget about the typical monster fighting within a dungeon either.

The dungeons. They are the meat of the game and what I play the games for. An overworld is just an overworld which houses the dungeons. Team dungeon!

The dungeons are actually my least favorite aspect of Zelda games. I love the moments in between the dungeons when you're running around the overworked accomplishing side quests. Also, the problem with dungeons is that the story always comes to a screeching halt once you enter them.

Like some already said... it's a mixture of both, it's really hard to pick just one. The exploration part, which leads to dungeons, is probably the core of a The Legend of Zelda experience.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Both + fighting.

I play it to beat it, like I play all games. In the case of Zelda, I spend as little time in-between dungeons as possible and then if/when I get to the end, and need more hearts, I will go get them and/or other items. But its always point A to B as fast as possible.

The overworld for sure. Puzzelda killed dungeons in Zelda games as soon as they started calling them temples with OoT. They suck now.

They're supposed to be scary labyrinths populated by gruesome challenges and traps, not dainty temples filled with cute little brain teasers. They're a place you go to because you have to. Because it's your duty as a hero. Because someone has to. Not because it's a cute little mind-bending challenge. They aren't supposed to be fun little tests of problem solving with some enemies thrown in. They're supposed to be labyrinthine death traps made to keep people out or kill them in, and the player should feel that way. That's why the overworld is supposed to work in tandem with them. In the overworld, you're free and can breath. Dungeons are claustrophobic and something you just want to finish as fast as possible, so when you beat the dungeon and reach the bright overworld again, it's a massive release, like gasping for air after holding your breath under water for too long.

Now, I go to Souls games for real Zelda dungeons. Hopefully Zelda U returns to that. It doesn't even have to be remotely as hard. It's just the level design and enemy types. Aonuma said he want's to "turn puzzles on it's head" in Zelda Wii U, and specifically alluded to there not being puzzles in this one as one of the conventions he wants to change. If this is actually true, and they finally kill Puzzelda, then Godspeed, Aonuma. God fucking speed. Make me love dungeons again. Bring back that feeling of the OG Zelda. The feeling Dark Souls stole from us all. (and did a great job with)

The first Zelda's dungeons were also puzzles. Zelda 2, ALTTP... they all had puzzles. Idk what you're talking about.
