I am not putting in question that specs for specs consoles are more capable than PCs.

He did the research for you wich I said I wouldnt but theres always other nice ppl around willing to do it, and you move the goalpost. K got it. And dont even bother answering cause anything you say Ill ask for a citation, and not just a link, I want a scientific paper or I dont take.

I didn't move anything. He adressed something I didn't even put into question in the first place. Specs for specs, consoles are indeed more capable than equivalent PCs. That has nothing to do with how easy or hard it is to optimize. Games for PCs look better, but they require more advanced specs to run like this, because optimization on that platform isn't what it is on consoles (by necessity or lack of it, in either case). That being said, having to optimize is harder than not having to optimize. Simple logic. No way around this one. That's what I said to my first comment to you and I stand by that.

Now, care to come up with an other snide empty reply like this again?

Looks more like it was from a PS3.5 than PS4 if we're actually a little honest.

I read it perfectly well, consoles are specialized architectures, they can do more than an equivalent PCs, only reason you can't brute force then is because their resource is limited (wich is also true on PC, but you can simply choose to develop your game with super high specs as standard and screw anyone on the lower end of the spectrum out of it). Being easy or hard to actualy manage to harness the extra efficiency you can get with a closed specialized architecture has nothing to do with it, consoles allow for more tricks than an equivalent PC because its built to optmize te specs it has, a PC with PS4 specs (wich are low specs) cannot do UC4, its that simple.

Please, give us examples of the tricks you're talking about. =)

It's all about the API and OS frankly it is more streamlined than windows or DX, without making a fuzz out of it at that. Otherwise the PS4 specs are rather particular with it's 8gb GDDR5 all that bandwidth can be used when developing for PS4. I doubt any Dev on PC develops on GDDR based memory. Sure GDDR will work, but PC's in general work with DDR which is more practical but game wise GDDR is better. PC is and will stay a platform with multiple forms of hardware thus superoptimisation like this is the trick to make the order or UC4 on weak hardware and make it run steadily.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
