Forums - Gaming - The Division impressions/progression thread

Day 1 impressions were not good and the Beta didn't give me much hope, but, after a few more hours into the games campaign, I'm starting to enjoy it.

Its made better than Destiny thats for sure, but I'm still not sure if I will want to complete this as there is simply no narrative. After getting used to the gameplay and mission design, my impressions from day 1 have bumped up from a 5/10 to a 7.8/10.

I'll start it today. At which level do you recommend going to the DZ? Some journalists told they're waiting until they reach lvl 30, but I see you already have been able to grab valuable loot being at 13.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

May I ask why did you buy a game you didn't have hope for in the first place? At full price, day one, without even having any reviews for it?

I played the hell out of Destiny and I've seen some people comparing both games, but I don't know if I'll actually enjoy The Division

I mean, It looks kinda repetitive  (that why I quit playing Destiny, I got sick of it)

If you must know. I buy ever game game day 1, even PS4 games because my mother is a manager at tesco, gets 20% off every game. ie Buy for £30, sell for £35 on ebay...

Well it is kind of, personally I did not play it but when the game was released I was doing work at home and Angry Joe was streaming it from the hour it got released and he played around 14 hours and then only quit because he needed sleep.  He is more an negative gamer/reviewer than others but the first 8 hours he was saying it is better than a 5/10 but at the end of the stream he said he would give it a 6-7/10 but that doesn't account PVP and he had still a lot to do.  He was kind of more negative playing Destiny but that could be because of the sci fi part don't know.

Hmmm i was skeptical about this game but the posts here and on reddit about the game and solo play may have sold me

ugh a 6.7/10? I think I'll rent the game for a day then

Here in Brazil everything is so freaking expensive... I can't afford to buy a game if I'm not a 100% sure that I'll like it :/

Well it is AngryJoe he can be very negative but watching him play and his opinions it felt like he enjoyed every aspect better than Destiny except the music and the fact that you can't drive something in the division.

There is no reason to wait until level 30 to do the Dark Zone. Just like in the safe zone, the Dark Zone has different sections with different levels of enemies. You can find great loot in the DZ. Better loot than outside of it, apparently. There is just.. risk. And you don't really get much of any XP for your safe zone level while in the DZ, you only get DZ XP. So even if you wait until level 30, you're gonna go into the DZ level 1.
