Exactly,  plus I'll be buying battlefield 1 along with its premium and the new legacy cod edition for cod4. There is no room in my schedule this year but last year with uncharted 4 delayed there was.  It's an inferior game too so that doesn't help.

They messed up so bad. I'll either get it for $10 on sale in a few years or on ps plus like I did with tomb raider 2013

You now what's funny, people thought RotTR bombed at first launching on the same day as Fallout 4 and near so many other major titles. But guess what happened? It sold well over time and had a strong first 10 weeks, sold great on PC as well in spite of being late.

Meanwhile a game like SFV had a great opening and bad legs. Also did poor on PC.

Sold on PC because launched 2 Months later and PC is one of the biggest user base, Street Fighter V had a Better First 10 Weeks than Tomb Raider, And Street Fighter did not bombed on PC, the Best selling PC Fighting game(of the whole genre) only sold 700 Thousands Units while the best selling Tomb Raider did 4+ Millions on PC, the Market for Fighting games on PC is Small.

We know that Street Fighter Shipped 1.4 Millions of units in 6 Weeks after Launch, The Game only sold 150k+ on PC after 3 Months, we can only track the PC Sales where the game don't sell because had a poor launch and because the Fighting market  for the PC is small, Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a  Huge Sucess on PC yet it sold 400 Thousands of Units in 1 year and 3 months.

Street Fighter V despite the bad launch sold well over 1 Million on PS4 in 10 weeks, Tomb Raider,  even with good launch and Launching on Holidays with deals giving it for free with other games, it sold Well over 1 Million counting Xbox 360 sales, we only have VG Chartz Numbers but the official Statement don't state that the game sold 1+ Million on Xbox One alone.

In both games we don't know how much each game sold on Launch and how much was sold in the next weeks, so you cannot state that Street Fighter V had a good launch and bad 10 weeks of sale, and cannot state the same about Tomb Raider, The Statistics state that Who purchased Street Fighter V, The Majority, is still playing it actively.

If the game had a good launch and poor weeks of sale the People who purchased it would see no value in playing it now, but the ones who are deep into the Fighting game genre don't matter to wait a little more for the content while they play online and save fighting money for the next characters.

A PC game like RotTR already being at 700K is pretty awesome and it will continue to sell well. Meanwhile SFV is under 150K. Lets not argue genre, one is a success and the other is doing poor numbers in comparison.

As we already discussed before, those are shipped numbers. The only numbers MS has discussed is sold through.

Just give it a rest, we already discussed all this.

SFV will have much better legs! the game now barebones and lack contend, but capcom will lauch more updates and support for the game! What capcom needs to do is "Relauch" the game whit something similar to killer instinct "seassons"! ROTTR is a sprinter soon to be forgeted (even whit the upcoming Ps4 lauch), on the other hand, SFV is marathonist that still have a long run.

Bingo!!! You finally realised it.  Now I can move on.  God it took a long time but I finally made you see it my way :)

Alright, well I'm sure Sony and MS's focus will now be buying exclusives people don't want. It makes perfect sense!

No it will but Sony will gladly settle for everything being multiplatform if MS is down.  Because when everything is on both platforms ps4 wins majorly. They take the lions share of the cheese.

It was MS's plan to invest in titles like sunset overdrive from a top ps developer,  TR which is an iconic Playstation series and titanfall which was dubbed the game of the gen and the next big thing.  Why?  To win the console war of course. And they failed badly.

I think deals like scalebound and the ones I listed above will be less frequent now that they realise they can't stop Sony and the ps4. But hopefully they keep funding studios like remedy as second parties.

Hey, I agree. Games are going to sell better on PS4 eitherway so buying exclusivity is a waste of resources.

Sunset Overdrive is a different story. Insomniac needed funding and wanted to keep their IP, MS offered them that and Sony dropped the ball for not doing it.

Titanfall was actually pretty rad and I don't think anybody thought that was going to win a console war, sometimes you guys exagerate. TR has also found success on PC and Xbox, its not just a Playstation thing.

Scalebound is a unique game for X1 library and Phil Spencer has put a focus on getting major titles of various genres on X1.

Its difficult to gauge if going exclusive was a mistake. Primarily because we dont know how much money changed hands for exclusivity.

However, I think timed exclusivity is usually the best route for an IP. Because they can still build a fanbase on a platform even if a game is late. Which helps the next game succeed.

More like "timed exclusivity is usually the best route for an IP since Microsoft has been doing it for a while." That's more reflective lol.

For the console manufactuer its a smaller investment. For the developer, they can still make money on the competing platforms and have more fans. lol?

LoL, Street Fighter is fighting in a genre where the best selling sold 650-700k on PC this is the sales of the biggest success on PC, Tomb Raider is fighting in a genre where the best game sold 4+ Millions on PC,  Street Fighter sold 21-21.5% of what the biggest fighting game sold on Steam, and Tomb Raider sold 18.5-19% of what the biggest game sold on PC, despite being exclusive for Xbox One for just 2 months the PC Release don't had much Damage because they don't had to wait much to play the game, Being Multiplataform or not does not change the PC Sales.

Is like Comparing Cod's Sales with Metal Gear Solid's Sales on the consoles.

For Microsoft is Sold Through numbers for both plataforms, we don't know when it sold more than 1 million on Xbox One or if it sold more than 1 million before that statement.

Capcom's Numbers are Shipped numbers 4 Weeks before the end of the "First 10 weeks" sales, wich means that they probably sold what they shipped, they had nearly 1 Month to do this.

Or do you think that they Overshipped it ? i doubt, they expected 2 Millions of shipped until the end of March but they shipped 1.4 Millions this means that they shipped based on Demand, I Don't think that Street Fighter V had enought shipped units for 1 Entire month of sales.

The Consumer does not accept Timed Exclusivity they barely accept when they have to wait because a Port for their plataform isn't ready, people were mad with Project Cars not coming for the Wii U, and Mortal Kombat X not coming for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Maybe SFV will have good legs are surpass RotTR on X1. But is it going to achieve the number RotTR on various platforms? Nope.

I can't help but wonder how long will Capcom support SFV if sales are modest. Capcom kept supporting SFIV because rereleases were making them a lot of money and that was on more platforms. SFV is under performing on PS4, its doing poor on PC, and Capcom said they won't be selling new versions per se.

I know SFV has more support coming but as the price continues to drop and they don't have the same profits coming in like the predecessor, I think there is less incentive to keep supporting it like SFIV.

Maybe you downplay TR's legs. I'm pretty sure TR 2013 sold better than SFIV thanks to rereleases and the success of that series on PC.

Sunset overdrive was going to get funding but insomniac opened the door to MS who many fancied to win the gen.  If it was with Sony they would own the ip but the game would have sold double.

Another bad deal right there.

Titanfall EA MS deal is a load of bs. They've been in bed for years.  How expensive would it have been to port it to the Ps4? EA have funded much riskier games thet wouldn't be expected to sell that much for both Playstation and xbox in the past.

Massive fuck up not making it on ps4. Blew so much money there.

The TR deal isn't as bad as thet.  There's been so many bad xbox deals early this gen.
