Phil Spencer is not talking about a way to upgrade your Xbox One. He is talking about launching a more powerful Xbox One midway through the generation, putting an end to current 5-6 year console life cycles. 

I think the internet will go insane if Microsoft announces a more powerful Xbox One at E3. I would buy it. E3 can't come soon enough.

If this does happen, does this set the precedent of consoles being viable for 3 years? Personally, I hope not.

I think this happening would create more resentment towards Xbox than E3 2013.

Unless Microsoft gives away a New XBone to every XBone owner for free, this move would be received as well as the mandatory Kineckt integration.

The problem that comes out of this is that what happens to the already current Xbone owners? Will they be left behind? Even if they are included they will just feel like they are at the back of everyone else now as well.

Phil mentioned smartphones, and while a different market, smartphones get a major upgrade every 2 years. Phil also mentioned PC's which I think get a major leap in GPU speed every 3 years. 

I think Microsoft is trying to court those gamers who wouldn't mind upgrading, remember both consoles would play the same games. So, I think Microsoft is just trying to keep up with PC's. 

Games won't be exclusive they would just look better, just like on PC.

Idk if it'll be more powerful but I do expect a slim Xbox One to be announced this year.

Please change the title. Add something like "Prediction: ... " to it.

A new Xbox One could be a big thing for Microsoft.
Maybe it could change things and make more people buying a Xbox One.
