Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Who else reckons Colour Splash looks pretty?

Setting aside the gameplay for a moment, does anyone else think Paper Mario Colour Splash is just really nice to look at?

I mean, it's no Mario Kart 8, but its paper and cardboard aesthetic is quite appealing and really benefits from being on a HD platform in my opinion.

It's looks gorgeous. Colors kinda muted though.

I like it!

I think it looks great and it really reminds me of Paper Mario 64 in HD.

It looks great. Too bad about all the hate it will get :(.

Honestly it doesn't look particularly great to me, but to be fair no Paper Mario game ever has. I mean it's paper, it's obvious the reason for this style is so the games take less effort to make, a.k.a. a cop out. They usually made up for that in every other area, though not anymore sadly.

Yes it does. And most of the times imo. Most Wii U games looks better on TV than on your screens.

They're not "muted", they're pastel. Gives a more "natural" feel over bright colours, which look more cartoony. Note that this isn't equivalent to the "mature" grey-and-brown idiocy of last generation.
