Forums - Nintendo - Universal Studio of Japan to Open up Nintendo Land/Theme Park in 2020 - Costs $400 Million!

For me this was always a no brainer, never understood why Nintendo never did it.
This kind of thing can lower the company overall risk and provide something where they can lean on hard times (besides HH, which are losing strengh).

Honestly they could also use this strategy to other entertainment segments. Besides pokemon, there is are a number of other IPs that could become anime. If you are afraid to let someone manage Zelda, just allow them to create a Golden Sun anime before, or another less important IP.

Any word on when the US is getting them? I'm assuming before 2020.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

well i'm considering moving to Japan in a few years so this is something to looking to if i do move there.

Either this will be a great, or crap. But I hope for the former, as this could be epic!

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

That's pretty big deal.

Another reason to visit Japan before I die. Hmm, after Bali.

Welp, brb, moving to Japan in 2020.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Andre from Gamexplain said that the Harry Potter theme park cost $450 million. So I think Universal and Nintendo has something up their sleeve to create something pretty cool. Hopefully it'll open by the time of the Olympics. I really would like to go!!

Some new activity to add to my future Japan visit, maybe for a second one since I already wanted to visit Tokyo Disneyland and that would make it too theme park focused. For sure I'd avoid the launch year and the olympics, so it would be way after those events.
