Probably not much. I'd guess that most of the MGS fanboys out there already bought a PS3 at launch.

metal gear solid/ps: 5.59mil
metal gear solid 2/ps2: 5.56mil
metal gear solid 3/ps2: 3.96mil

it has been in a decline since the first, even tho larger userbase for each subsequent release

now, mgs4 may do better than mgs3 because ps3 owners will be more likely to buy it as one of a dozen good games instead of one of 100 good games

however, i don't think it is much of a system seller...those who are most likely to buy it already have a ps3...others who would like to buy it won't buy a ps3 until price goes down...a decent amount will buy it, but it won't bump up sales more than a few hundred k max

while it has great name recognition, it just isn't a huge seller like u would think

100K in NA that week (usually 60K)

120K in EU (usually 70K)

50K in Japan..(usually 15K)

so we are looking at a 40K + 50K + 35K

= 125K boost for that week

also my numbers may be low as we have NO IDEA as to what boost GTA IV will have created by then

that's why i said average sales of 4 weeks after mgs vs average sales of 4 weeks before mgs...

so u think a 125k boost first week and then how much after that? enough to total more than 300k total boost before price break?
