Melissa is in it, so that kinda ruins it for me right off the bat. I have found zero of her movies that i've watched, funny. She overacts so terribly.

I know that visual effects aren't cheap, but how in the world can this movie have a $150 million budget?

Please excuse my bad English.

Ignoring the feminist / SJW thing that has been done to death... Objectively :

The acting seems really subdued
The black woman seems annoying and stereotypical
Good job with the props (traps, tech etc) looks good
The jokes seem "dumbed down" compared to the originals.Family guy humour vs Simpsons season 4 humour? Hard to explain.

I will torrent it but theres no way im paying to watch it out of principle.

I've been on somewhat on a negativity spree... this isn't helping.

This is bad. When I heard it was an all female cast, I didn't care as long as the movie was good It just doesn't look good regardless of an all female cast. However, if there was ever a time there was a character flagrantly tacked on or a token character, it was the black woman who "knows the streets" of New York. How you go from a character portrayal like Winston to THAT about 30 years later is kind of telling how much effort and care was put into this movie.

While I applaud the all-female cast, the black woman is still being depicted as the crazy/eccentric and outlandish person, which is annoying. Not all black women are sassy princesses.

And the movie looks awful.

^ this Ghostbusters had a black person in a lead role, and he didnt seem out of place.

I dont think the new cast & writers for this movie can recreate the magic the old movies did.

That's because Winston wasn't a walking stereotype.  He was a great balance to the other 3 guys, playing it mostly straight.  I fully expect the token black woman to say, "Now, that's what I'm talking about." One of the ultimate token lines.  I mean she already has " Ah, hell no" down.  I'm sure she'll also hit "That shit is whack" and "DAMNNNN!"

Personally, I hope the backlash forces them to go direct to DVD. And if they still want to do a decent reboot, make the one Tatum and Chris Pratt proposed.  I could definitely see them as Ray and Peter, respectively.  I think I read Ryan Gosling's name thrown around in one of the leaked emails, I bet he could pull off an Egon.  Maybe Chadwick Boseman as Winston.  Or an unknown.  Just as long as he's not a fucking walking stereotype.  Hell, they could ad lib 90% of the movie and it would be 10x funnier than this shit.

To me, this just illustrates why Pascal was fired. Bad decision after bad decision.  Given the choice between this crap and a Tatum and Pratt vehicle (two of the biggest action and comedic actors currently, especially Pratt), she couldn't resist her feminist leanings and chose crap.

looks like shit. hope it flops.

No wonder Sony Pictures is dying. Didn't they get the memo? Always stick to the original source and don't make any stupid unnecessary changes.
