60M 3DS must mean nothing to you

Many of those people would not have bought a 3DS if Nintendo offered quality titles for mobiles.

Wow, I bet that you have strong evidences to reinforce your statement.

Even if you are right, so what?

If there are almost 60 million people that buy nintendo handheld to have access to nintendo software is bc they care about nintendo output, so they can't be left out of the nintendo core audience.

Like they're going to give their quality titles for mobile, just because they couldn't handle a shit generation full of mistakes

I still can't see Nintendo being overly-successful on mobile. Trying to think at all of Nintendo's big games and the only games I can think of working well on mobile are their RPGs (Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun

No, Nintendo's core audience is still on Nintendo consoles. The casual audience is on phones though. I'm guessing that the core audience will tear their hair out over Nintendo franchises on mobile platforms and keep playing on consoles, core customers won't suddenly dive into a completely different concept on a whim; they would seek something similar, if anything (as in, a different console).

Some handheld customers are bound to have shafted Vita and 3DS for mobile/tablet and simpler gaming though, but to state that Nintendo's "core customers" are now on mobile seems wrong to me.

nintendoes core audience is 12 Million people out of almost 8 billion?

wii sold 100 million units.

seems to meee 90 or so million went to mobile.

Yes. Ignore that people could of gone to Xbox and Sony. You know, people could, I don't know. Get fed up at how Nintendo handles everything else on their stuff. And they just buy the other systems. You'll never know how many people left Nintendo, since PS1. Same goes for casual. But it sure isn't just only to one area.

How many games Nintendo makes, that really would work on Mobile, with touch controls? I don't see many. Then what? Sell $40 games for $1-6. And lose money. Pokemon Go exsists, because a NEW regular series game, not a old port. Could not be made for just $1 or $6. Anything made on mobile would only be: old game ports, or offshots.

He's not entirely wrong. The market for pick and play and bright/colorful "friendly looking" games is largely on mobile, home console market has basically become dark/gritty/violent action games or sports games.

I mean, I'd probably buy Pokemon Red and Mario Kart if I could play them on my iPhone. Both are easy sellers that would do millions. It's dumb not to put them on there.

Then her parents should've bought a Wii U or 3DS for her.

i completely agree..but it was her grandmother that got it for her( and i think she only asked her grandmother for it to brag to her friends in school)

Trying to think at all of Nintendo's big games and the only games I can think of working well on mobile are their RPGs (Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun <--- a new gs would definitely get people excited for mobile). but like 99% of their other big games i just can't see many enjoying them as well on touch screen. (definitely not smash lol)

It's time for Nintendo to create new IP for mobile, but Nintendo will probably be their typical-selves and just make spin-offs of their current IPs that'll focus on mobile touch screen.

The games will be built specifically for Mobile so using the playstyle of current games is not the right way to assess the situation.

I wonder who this "analyst" is.

The same argument is usually made for putting Nintendo games on PS and Xbox. One has to wonder why Microsoft doesn't get advised to put Halo on PS, or why Sony doesn't get advised to put Gran Turismo on Xbox. After all, the same reasoning would hold true.

But Sony and MS already put out some mobile games. I mean, while Nintendo doesn't like to admit they don't compete with Xbox or Playstation, they definitely do. I don't think they're competing for the customers of the mobile market with any of their current offerings.
