Forums - Microsoft - Warning Gears of War Ultimate Edition (W10) is a MESS!

This is why I seldom bother with PC games, start getting into the game just to find it's super glitchy. This reminds me of when I was playing Mass Effect and that wasn't even a widely known issue, it just seemed to effect a small number of people. There are too many variables that can effect a PC games performance.

No news on any improvements. This is a mess.

Looks like every site is pretty much mirroring the original and discovering more problems:

In spite of all the improvements, alas, the PC release of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition appears to be plagued with technical issues. A list of problems posted on the GEARS FORUM includes downloads that appear to have stalled, sub-par performance on AMD GPUs, lack of support for Nvidia's G-Sync technology—running with it enabled “will cause significant performance issues”—and a strong recommendation that Ambient Occlusion be disabled on AMD graphics cards until a fix can be released.

I quit pc gaming with RAGE. It was a disaster back then. I bought it later for 10 bucks on my x360, and i never looked back. The pc is only used since then to print out letters for my girlfriends job or christmas cards to my nieces. I am sick of this unstable circumstances

Those sound like some technical problems that can be addressed. Not sure if they will impact a majority of PC gamers though. Sounds like they released a product that is still playable.

Doesn't sound like a Batman:AK level of problems.

Hopefully some of those things get ironed out before KI and other games launch.

Edit: If you look at the reviews it sounds like people are having trouble downloading and booting. But also a lot of people saying it works fine.

Love the whole "too many issues with PC games" yet most console games dont even run at a playable frame rate and still look like dirt

People are comparing this to Batman: AK level of problems.  I never added all the problems, as this was originally me asking questions to decide if I should get it. I mean their are problems for AMD, Nvidia, and Intel only users. The one thing this proves, is it's not as easy as people are lead to believe. If porting Xbox One games were so easy this flagship title wouldn't be having so many major issues.

I do hope things get fixed though. It's such a shame I really wanted some competition for Steam, but it's becoming clear to me that these ports are more of a cash grab and less of making the W10 store a viable alternative. This after Tomb Raider being better on Steam than the W10 store is unsettling.

Xbox master race!

It's not as bad as Batman AK. That was litterally unplayable. I found turning off Ambient Occlusion got rid of the artifacts on screen. The stuttering is still there, but it's not constant.
