2D has never appealed to me a huge deal. They're just kind of the same thing every time. I need that third dimension.

I like both of them equally. Both have their masterpieces ( SMW and SMG1) and their stinkers ( SMS and SMB2: LL).

It isn't really as black/white; some 2D games are better than some 3D games and vice-versa. Overall though, 3D > 2D.

Hmmmm... It's hard for me to decide. Nowadays I prefer 3D Mario games, that's for sure, even if I find NSMBU to be a fantastic game, it has nothing to do against 3DWorld, or the Galaxy games. But the first 2D games are classics, and I have very fond memories playing them. So... I think I won't vote, I can't xDDDD.

SM64, Sunshine and Galaxy are my favorite Mario games,

SMB3 and SMW are absolutely fantastic but as singleplayer experiences the 3d games just beat them out for me, though playing these 2d games in co-op is fun. I'm not going to even mention the soulless NSMB series.

2D all the way, 3D mario had notghing to 2D marios on SNES and NES age.

2D, because nostalgia.

3D for sure, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy.

3D Marios have almost no games on their genre that can come close to their quality. 2D Marios however, face a very strong competition and for my taste there are tons of other platformers that are better, some of them by a big stretch.

Im tired of all the 2D mario platformers..... Time to make alot more of the 3D ones nintendo.

I think Donkey Kong does the 2D sidescroll platformer thing, better than mario these days.

I want nintendo to focus on just makeing good 3D platformers, like how Mario Galaxy was, for mario.
