Same here. Didn't expect it at all, but I liked it. More anime should try something different. Death Note had such a disappointing ending (for me)

Baccano. An awesome series cut tragically short. All the characters were crazy, and awesome. It also happens to have one of the best dubs I have ever heard. Great animation too.
Haruhi - Obviously..
D. Gray man - Used to be my favorite weekly shounen manga. The TV show had surprisingly good pacing, and a great soundtrack.

No True Tears is an anime adaptation of a VN that went crazy and completely made up the story and for some reason and it ended up awesome.

I kinda hated the end but gosh these manly tears. Also you may be thinking about Mirai Nikki and i just got spoiled (not that i wanted to come back at that anime tho)
