They confirmed on the Pokémon website that VC Gen 1 Pokémon can't be transfered to any Gen 6 games, only Sun and Moon.

Note that Pokémon cannot be moved directly from Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow to Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire,Pokémon X, or Pokémon Y via Pokémon Bank.

Go for Yellow. Even though I got Blue as a birthday gift, I loved that game to death. So many good memories playing it on school at lunchtime and evading those annoying hall monitors.

Quick note the Mew glitch still works in R,B and Y, remember that the eshop versions work with the bank as well so if you missed the Mew promotion this month you can still have one for future games if you opt for R,B and Y on the eshop.

Yellow is better in every possible way. But I cannot buy it. Having Pikachu as the starter is a pain in the ass for the entire playthrough... but at the same time, I cannot put it in the PC. I would feel too bad for leaving Pikachu in that place. It may sound silly, but that's who I am xDD

So... I chose Blue because Vulpix.
