Is anyone really shocked by this?
He said the same about EVERY hardware company. A bit clickbaity the title :P. But, yeah, it's the same for every company, they just give developer kits to big companies like EA, Ubi, Namco, etc. to keep the console's specifications secret, and then I guess he might get his developer kit.
I think the EA statements from the last couple days should have given people clues (if they are true)...end of March to talk strategy?

I'm pretty sure that EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Shin'en, Wayforward, Platinum Games, SEGA, etc... already have the dev kits. The fact that Nintendo is not giving it to some random indie developer with only one game on its back and zero work for Nintendo before even announcing the console itself does not worry me at all.
I'm pretty sure Moon Studios will get the dev kit at some point after E3 2016.

He's pointing this out to all console makers. Its not just Nintendo. If they wanted to get a dev kit from Nintendo they should have been making Nintendo games and they would get special consideration. I'm sure that Shi'en Media can get a dev kit.
My take on the NX situation
- Best Case Scenario: It will have better 3rd Party Support than the Wii U, but much much less than Playstation 4/5 and Xbox One/Two
- Worst Case Scenario: It will have the same 3rd Party Support (aka non existant) than the Wii U, nothing will change.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even if Nintendo manages to convince certain 3rd Parties, it will NEVER have the same support than the competition.
My opinion? The NX wont do anything in regards of this situation.
The problem right here, right now is Nintendo.
The blame is not on the console, the dev kit, this, that or the other, it is Nintendo and their way of doing business, which is archaic at best.

The context of that tidbit is not the same as the context of this tidbit.
This tidit is about an indie dev not getting a dev kit or any specs about a console from a company he never made a game for, in which he says all coorporations do for secrecy.
The EA thing isn't even a statment. A viable info gatherer got information from an emplyoee at EA. Additionally, based on the information given, they have had devkits since last year

Hey, the developer's kit situation is the same for every hardware company, so it doesn't teel us enough about the NX situation. Let's wait to jump into conclusions. The fact is that Nintendo acknowledge the mistakes they've made this gen (obviously, WiiU sales are enough to make them know about it) and they might solve the third-party support this gen. Or not. We don't really know anything yet.

THIS! Nintendo is not giving any Information to small Indie Devs, and especially NOT to Indie Devs who did not made one game for a Nintendo Console!!!
