I woukd have preferred the the tekken and soul caliber style character customization than fixed costumes, but I don't think that will ever happen.

I'm on 178,000FM. I can easily hit 220k by beating survival mode on easy with the other characters and I might just do that by the time the next update has come about.

Characters I'll buy day one are:

Original Dante

Kratos

Fei Long

Evil Ryu

Sakura

However, one thing I've learnt from this Street Fighter is how much easier it is to play with other characters. They've made them all so much more accessible.

As if Survival grind wasn't already bad for colors, it's some A-Grade bullshit you have to complete Survival again for every different costume.

I'll get every character day 1 no matter what but only one really matters, The King.

Yes it feels a lot easier going through different characters and alongside easier combos other reasons could be the increased push-back and hit/block-stun. This is because up-close you can't do as many normals before being pushed out which means you're options are more limited and you have so much more time to confirm what is going on when moves are hit or blocked. Competively there is a risk the meta-game plateus faster because of the limited options.

I should start practising a new character but don't know who? Bison is just so fun and dirty to play.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

Shit, does this mean you can't buy a new costume unless you have unlocked it first?!

I do survival modes between training and fighting online so it doesn't feel like too much of a grind.

Just completed survival on easy with Bison and I found him hard to play with due to charge up moves. Can't believe they got rid of his psycho crusher move.

Rashid is pretty easy to pick up. Discovered his rush attacks today and had a blast.

Bad wording I guess, what I meant you only get the new colors for the costume you used to complete Survival. We don't know if this is the case for costumes bought from the store but pre-order costume colors work this way. Having said that, story costumes need to be unlocked by beating story mode but it shouldn't be considered a problem.

Thank god for that. Just completed survival on Normal with Ryu by the skin of my teeth. They AI blocking more doesn't get me as much as the combos it unleashes on you.

Do you know if you increase player level by repeating story and survival modes you have already beaten?

Can you also level player level in mp?

I think FM and experience bonus is a one time thing for story and survival, most likely for future single player modes too. You can gain experience in Ranked and Casual Matches. Player Levels play a major part why earning FM in the beginning is so fast. You complete Story, Survival Easy and Normal and end with lvl. 17.

Story 2k

Survival Easy 2k

Survival Normal 5k

Player Levels 17k

Total 26k FM

The problem is gaining Player Levels become more difficult and time consuming. That is essentially "the wall" which will break anyone trying to earn everything for free.

I was looking at the trophy list and you get a gold for reaching player level 200. My Ryu is on player level 161. I don't want to grind hard mode cuz I know I'm far from ready for it.

I don't mind grinding it in online mp.

My Survival grind is officially done and so am I, lol.

I've beaten Normal with everyone but Fang and just moments ago beat Hard with Bison. Almost lost it at final stage, from almost full life with 20% def bonus to like 5% life. This is official advice, Survival is bad for mental health.

With 460k FM, I should be now set for season 1 DLC characters. It's become clear that unless people are willing to complete Survival Hard and Hell with every character then Season 2 DLC characters are out of reach. That's if Season 2 characters are still 100k FM (possibly more expensive) which is not guaranteed at all. I don't think Daily Challenges will change the situation, at best I could see them giving 1k a day (I believe it's less) and for most people it would not be enough. And when you take into account all the other stuff that can be bought with FM(story costumes for example), it's obvious you can't "unlock" everything for free by playing, not even close. I knew this was the case the moment Capcom announced this FM-model and it's ridiculous to see all these people still shouting FREE FREE, but it's FREE....bullshit. This Fight Money case should be a clear example about the difference about people who actually THOUGHT about it and people who fell (and will fall in the future) into marketing-traps.

Oh, I thought the characters were 200k but looked it up and it says 100k each. That's pretty good I think.
Each time you level up a character, you get 1000k as well. So if you get every character to lvl 30, that's 480k just from that.
And obviously this model will have different effects depending on how much you play, since you get fight money for playing online matches, and daily challenges as well. I played SF4 regularly since 2010. So I imagine I'd be able to unlock all the characters and such if I play this game to a similar extent.

However, I actually want to pay for some characters, because I worry that Capcom might not earn enough money on future content due to the Fight Money system. But we'll see how it turns out. It'll be easier to gauge once all the modes are out.

I'm not even gonna attempt Survival on Hard as long as there are still these server disconnects.
And the CPU difficulty is really weird. It's really stupid most of the time, but then all of a sudden spikes and becomes extremly difficult. I've notice this usually happens with the last three opponents of each 10-block, but it doesn't seem exclusive to them.

Yup, the last 3 opponents are beastly. I had to do full health recoveries for each one of the fights.

The combos they unleash on you can be deadly and without full health recovery I stand no chance.

There are Player and Character Levels and most likely you mixed those two up, or your Ryu must be godlike. Fastest way is to level up different characters by completing single player modes. Should be easy trophy.

Yeah it's weird. On the profile screen it is under player level. Does that mean I'll have to complete hard mode with Ryu to hit level 200?! Dreading it unless the challenge mode helps me get there.

When does hard mode turn up the difficulty?
