What's the difference? Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2 were the same to me.

BF3 was a waaaay more linear than Bad Company 2 and BC2 was not nearly as serious as BF3.

The game was still pretty much the same.

more like Ubisoft open world fatigue.

An arguemnt could be made that is open world fatigue in general, and only games who do open world really well get away with it.

I think we got farigued on FC faster because the campaigns arent very interesting and gameplay isnt as unique as AC games.

I like Far Cry, but I played about half of FC4 and stopped. I'll get back to it eventually.

well a first person shooter is a first person shooter, but they definitely don't share as much similarities as any CoD game after MW or any Uncharted or any FIFA or any Civilization etc.

Staying faithful to the topic, the difference is about as big as Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon compared to Far Cry 3.

Yeah I absolutely loved Far Cry 3 and was surprised that it's so good after the IMO mediocre experience that FC2 was.
Yet here I am, having only played FC4 for about three hours since I got it for Christmas.
Also didn't help that the game didn't save my progress, so I would need to replay an hour or more of upgrading my basic inventory stuff and liberating camps etc.

On a side note, my favorite things about FC3 and 4 is running around the world and doing those non-story objectives. Like liberating camps, climbing towers, and even hunting to upgrade my gear. The reason I stopped playing is because I did all that stuff on one side of the map, to unlock more of the map I had to do more story missions. If I had access to the rest of the map without having to do story stuff, I probably would have kept playing. Basically story is the last thing I want to do in those games.

Well Far Cry does seem to use the same formula every time:
-Exotic location
-People that need liberating from bad guy
-Protagonist thrust headlong into civil war between the two factions, and decides to help good guys
-Wildlife that you can either kill and craft into things or it kills you
-Leaves that you pick to make droogs and stuff
-Similar vehicles to drive around
-Towers that you climb to "unlock the map" or "reduce oppressing influence"
-Crap ton of similar outposts to liberate
-Similar collectibles that relate to the fictional land's history
-You can heal where the animal mauled you by using a stick to pull a bullet out of your arm
-Online co-op missions (where applicable)
*This is without considering Primal - although it will be similar in many aspects

They are good games, but if you can't deal with the same thing every time then you may be disappointed. Yes, they are feeling series fatigue

You also described both Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs, which is why Ubisoft decided to take a break from the former.

You also described Just Cause. I've been playing JC3 and it's got so boring and repetitive, I've given up on it half way through.

I would like a Far Cry 5, but with less repetitiveness. They need to understand the maps don't need to be super huge. Whenever the maps go big, they just fill them with cut and paste jobs.

Make the maps smaller, increase the variety and keep the co-op elements. Really enjoyed them in FC4!
