With the collector's edition in the background,of course.

Fighting the good fight,Angry Joe. I bet that will teach Capcom.

Why didn't they've called it early access? Because they couldn't charge you 60€ for it.
The Story mode is a freaking joke. Doing what the other companies are doing with their fighting games? Haha... not even close capcom.

Yeah, he was so forgiving he called the game a huge disappointment at the moment, not worth getting at full price right now, and encouraged people to wait until March or June.  Oh, and also told apologists for the game to shut up very early on.  Yeah, super forgiving.

Seriously, actually listen to what he says.  Oh and Evolve launched with significantly less content than SFV in many areas (seriously, think about that) and intended to sell every single piece for inflated prices, all of which was up for sale at launch and the majority cannot be obtained by any other means.  And Battlefront launched with crappy preorder benefits, severe lack of content, and a $40 season pass.  All of which was announced at launch.  He got livid then cause it was confirmed.  He isn't going to foam at the mouth over hypothetical rip offs.

Seriously people, my word, he does everything we always demand these critics to do.  He warns the game is lacking content, is disappointing at this moment, isn't worth the price tag as is, and encourages people to wait all without jumping on the bandwagon of people giving it a 1 to 4 (seriously folks, play Ride to Hell or Two Worlds or Mind Jack before you give this any of those scores).  Isn't that what we want, detailed honesty?  He gives credit where do and criticizes hard where needed.

Seems you either missed or intentionally ignored the first sentence of my post :)

Also thanks to reviews like Angry Joe's, youre extremely wrong about Evolves launch. And what you just said about Battlefront can be applied to SFV. But theres no vitriol in this video because he has a deal with Capcom. The gloves dont come off. So he is cutting a game and company a break literally because he is paid to do so.

I didn't miss anything, I was well aware of the deal with Capcom before this video even happened.  And he comes out and says it in this video and even says he won't do a review due to perception of impropriety.  And no, the situation with Battlefront is NOT comparable to SFV.  Some people are ASSUMING the situations will wind up the same, but as of now they are NOT the same.  Hence the reason he sounds more highly concerned than angry.  Also, I did a lot more research on Evolve than just his review as I was interested in it.  And yeah, it was pathetically bare and had publically announced plans for ridiculous DLC.  Also, this is a post launch rant after he has played the game and he found the gameplay exceptional which obviously factors in.  Frankly, this isn't as "out of character" as people are making it out to be.  Look up his Civilization Beyond Earth review, it has the same tone of disappointment.  He doesn't exist to just flip out.

Soul Calibur 5 was a striking return to form but it was rated lower than Soul Calibur 4, the reason? Lack of story mode and cut-scenes or whatever. I am still gutted over that. Couldn't give two shits about cheesy story-lines in a fighting game

Hes only this calm because he has a deal with Capcom for a board game. He flipped out in front of the camera like an idiot for less than this.

This is so true lol.  He would have ripped the game a new hole if he didn't have that deal.

Say that in his comment section and see if you don't get attacked by his idiotic fanbase that can't see how shit his channel has become. I can't remember the last time he reviewed something, and when he does its weeks after the game comes out.

cant people wait one fucking month instead of crying? I have no pity of the people who bought the game now cause we all knew it would be like this, 16 fighters complain also? xD

People should be complaining about the points to unlock shit, that is what people should complain.

I think the majority of the complaints come from how much a "complete" game ultra street fighter 4 is compared to SFV right now, and when you consider that USF4 is €24 and the featureless SFV is €75 on psn store... I can see why people would have issues with the new game.

Also like others pointed out, a promise from Capcom that they'll bring worthwhile content to a game months after you buy it/launch should really just look at some of their Gems from the previous generation to see how they dropped some titles right away when bad PR hit and tried to cite market saturation on the issues with some of their fighting games while they were pumping out a new game in the genre every 3 months.

edit - should point out, I didn't watch the vid in the OP, I'll consider it but I've no real interest watching "moderately upset Joe" because he has a deal with the people he should be raging at, would just make me unsub from his channel like I probably should have some time ago.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I sort of understand people's complaints. But really, you're getting the less important part of the game for free later on. So it's just a fairly short wait is all.

Personally, I would be absolutely fine with buying Uncharted 4 at full price with just the SP content and the MP content released a few months later, for owners of the game, for free. But then for me I have no intention of playing the MP.

It's the buy this half done game now and then buy the rest later, or pre-buy with season pass, thing that I think is unacceptable business practice.

I don't know what the story mode of SF is meat to be, but if it's anything like the "story" mode of the only fighting game IP I've ever actually owned (Tekken) then it's really a non-issue IMO.

Also critics, which is the business Joe is in, have no business doing licencing / game deals with developers and publishers. If there was any such thing as a critic's code of ethics this would be unethical behaviour. There's altogether too much conflict of interest. Even if he declares his conflict of interest, if his critique is at all tempered by his deal with Capcom, then his statement of conflict of interest does not suddenly make his video free from undue influence.

@bold, yeah, you're still not getting it. My post said he doesn't get into character for this rant. You reply that he complains about some aspects of the game and blah blah blah, that's fine, but he doesn't do so in the normal manner. He's calm and collected. He won't go into rage mode because of the deal he has with Capcom. That's shady. You can make excuses all you want for the criticisms he raises and harsh words he says about the games release, it doesn't matter if he's not doing his normal shtick.

Battlefront and SFV are actually very comparable. Both games launched with planned DLC, expensive season passes, a lack of content at launch, and the promise from shady publishers that future free content was coming. It's the same thing.

And I'm glad you did research on Evolve, I bought the game day one. It was light on content, had DLC planned and detailed way before release, had (purely cosmetic) day one DLC, and had cosmetic microtransactions. SFV is light on content, had DLC planned and detailed way before release, and will have cosmetic microtransactions. Or maybe already does? I don't know, I never tried to buy alternate costumes to be honest. Maybe they are already in the game? Maybe those are one of them free updates coming? And both games had retailer exclusive day one DLC.

Like SFV, Evolve also had a developer promising future free content. And they've delivered on new maps, new modes, lots of free skins (you said a majority of it cannot be obtained without buying, that's false, should have stepped up that research), and free characters as well. So the only real difference is in Evolve if you want a DLC item you either have to pay or you wait for it to be included in a community event and given away free. In SFV you can pay real money or the SF Spacebux, whatever they call it. But then they require such grindy, F2P tactics to get the funny money to unlock them without paying, it's a tried and true style designed to make people part with real money.

And hey, I loved the shit out of Evolve, played hundreds of hours on it, even with these flaws. The people enjoying SFV despite it having those same flaws, can easily reach the same conclusion. And as a bonus we now know AJ is a corporate shill. Nothing more for me to say on the matter.
