Seems you either missed or intentionally ignored the first sentence of my post :)

Also thanks to reviews like Angry Joe's, youre extremely wrong about Evolves launch. And what you just said about Battlefront can be applied to SFV. But theres no vitriol in this video because he has a deal with Capcom. The gloves dont come off. So he is cutting a game and company a break literally because he is paid to do so.

I didn't miss anything, I was well aware of the deal with Capcom before this video even happened.  And he comes out and says it in this video and even says he won't do a review due to perception of impropriety.  And no, the situation with Battlefront is NOT comparable to SFV.  Some people are ASSUMING the situations will wind up the same, but as of now they are NOT the same.  Hence the reason he sounds more highly concerned than angry.  Also, I did a lot more research on Evolve than just his review as I was interested in it.  And yeah, it was pathetically bare and had publically announced plans for ridiculous DLC.  Also, this is a post launch rant after he has played the game and he found the gameplay exceptional which obviously factors in.  Frankly, this isn't as "out of character" as people are making it out to be.  Look up his Civilization Beyond Earth review, it has the same tone of disappointment.  He doesn't exist to just flip out.

@bold, yeah, you're still not getting it. My post said he doesn't get into character for this rant. You reply that he complains about some aspects of the game and blah blah blah, that's fine, but he doesn't do so in the normal manner. He's calm and collected. He won't go into rage mode because of the deal he has with Capcom. That's shady. You can make excuses all you want for the criticisms he raises and harsh words he says about the games release, it doesn't matter if he's not doing his normal shtick.

Battlefront and SFV are actually very comparable. Both games launched with planned DLC, expensive season passes, a lack of content at launch, and the promise from shady publishers that future free content was coming. It's the same thing.

And I'm glad you did research on Evolve, I bought the game day one. It was light on content, had DLC planned and detailed way before release, had (purely cosmetic) day one DLC, and had cosmetic microtransactions. SFV is light on content, had DLC planned and detailed way before release, and will have cosmetic microtransactions. Or maybe already does? I don't know, I never tried to buy alternate costumes to be honest. Maybe they are already in the game? Maybe those are one of them free updates coming? And both games had retailer exclusive day one DLC.

Like SFV, Evolve also had a developer promising future free content. And they've delivered on new maps, new modes, lots of free skins (you said a majority of it cannot be obtained without buying, that's false, should have stepped up that research), and free characters as well. So the only real difference is in Evolve if you want a DLC item you either have to pay or you wait for it to be included in a community event and given away free. In SFV you can pay real money or the SF Spacebux, whatever they call it. But then they require such grindy, F2P tactics to get the funny money to unlock them without paying, it's a tried and true style designed to make people part with real money.

And hey, I loved the shit out of Evolve, played hundreds of hours on it, even with these flaws. The people enjoying SFV despite it having those same flaws, can easily reach the same conclusion. And as a bonus we now know AJ is a corporate shill. Nothing more for me to say on the matter.
