Do you realise that Xbox 360 at beginning was killing PS3!? PS3 sales start to match Xbox 360 only when PS3 had same price like Xbox360 and when PS3 actually become to receive better exclusives. Also even multipaltform games worked and looked better on Xbox360 difrence were not so big beacuse at end games were 720p/30fps on bouth platforms, but with PS4 majority of PS4 games working at 1080p while on X1 majority of multi platform working at 900p.

PS2 and Xbox had same launch price of $299, not just that PS2 was launched one year earlier than Xbox, it was success in every sense (for instance launch titles are probably best in history), PS2 was so popular that become best selling console ever.

Wii U had third party support on launch, but they had bad Nintendo launch titles, nobody bought Wii U to play NSMBU or Nintendo Land, and people will definatly will not buy Nintendo platform just to play worst versions of 3rd parties, there is no one great Nintendo games available, main reason why people actually buy Nintendo consoles.

Only case that NX will be similar like Wii U is again that platform has terrible and bad marketing, weak launch titles, not competitive price, bad and not appealing gimmick, software droughts...

the ps2 was alot more expensive in my country for launch. Nontheless, it sold way better.

Here is again something about zelda i wanted to tell you:

Top 20 List of open world games from a random youtuber.

Zelda raked no. 7.

Its just one game with 20 other coming for most people.  Its not making people to instantly get the NX if they can just the 19 other open world games + bunch of other great titles on the console they OWN ALREADY

I talking about official price not about specific country.

Who cares about what random youtuber thinks!?

Zelda is unique, you don't have anything on market like 3D Zelda, 3D Zelda is always huge, its franchise that last 30. years with consistently high quality games, and release of 3D Zelda is always huge thing for gaming industry. So yes, some people would buy completely new Nintendo console in order to play Zelda U, but you can still deny that. Also I never said that only Zelda will sell and make NX succes, but definitely will help NX like majority of people on this thread already stated.

At end its very simple, Zelda U is huge game, and having such a huge game like launch title will help sales of that system, but from some reason you just keep denying that.

When Skyward Sword was realised it was huge thing despite not so great sales, and like I already wrote, huge effect on sales had that Zelda arived on Wii when platform already was dead and majority of users alredy migrated to other platforms, also Skyward Sword requred difrent type of controler or addon so people need to pay extra money if they wanted to play Skyward Sword. And you definitely can't compare effect of game that is launch game and game that arrives on dead platform.

I say that Wii was almost dead at end of 2011. and that majority of Wii users already migrated to other platforms, that is a fact.

the wii sold 11mio units in 2011. Pretty solid for a "dead" plattform.

Its sold great, but support from Nintendo was much weaker than previous years and olders users migrated to other platforms. 2011 and 2012. were ryse of PS3 and Xbox 360, while they were fall of Wii.

They released Skyward Sword. Which again didnt sold impressive.

And I said to you why Skyward Sword wasn't sold impressive, users were massively migrated to other platforms and game required different type of controller or addon so people need to pay extra money if they wanted to play Skyward Sword.
