Different approaches is a very nice way of saying different difficulties. It's two perspectives on the same events.

It'd be like reviewing a Saga or Suikoden several times because there are multiple campaign where you get a different side of the story.

You are really uninformed about the subject.

Fire Emblem 7's Eliwood and Hector campaigns are what you believe Birthright and Conquest to be.

It's not really Hector v Eliwood because there's no a branching point + there's no change in the outcome of the story + which side you choose determine a lot of your party members (only 8 or so are across both campaigns).

and I've been following Fates since it was announced in Japan. I just believe that the game should be split in half.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

So you've followed the game, yet still lack so much knowledge?

Hiku broke down the content of each version to show how it's a rip-off, but all he managed to do was show the opposite. And of course both versions need their own review. A review's purpose is to answer the question if a game is worth buying. If somebody only played Birthright, they would have no idea what the 22 maps that are exclusive to Conquest look like, so how should a review for Birthright be applicable to Conquest? The maps alone are already too big of a difference to consider the two versions virtually the same, but then there are also lots of characters and story portions that differ as well.

Hiku post was exactly what gave me another different idea of the game. It kinda make me believe the opposite of what the post really intended xDDDD. If you have a game, the other one is more like a big expansion, and 20 bucks doesn't seem too much for a game that has 22 new levels out of 41 of the first version you play, and brand new characters. It seems like Birthright is more focused on story and relationship, while Conquest feels like and old-school FE experience, with Revelation providing a middle point. 3 different campaigns. It reminds me of Starcraft 2. I don't remember this bashing for that game, actually, with lots of praises regarding those campaign contents.

Wow... I'm kinda shocked they are getting reviewed separately. I guess it isn't like Pokemon.

I was wrong. Not sure which one to get.

Oh wait, Imma buy both
Too lazy to go up to Gamestop tomorrow though :/

Jesus I need it to be Friday already

Gamespot lost all credibility back in 2006, when they fired one of their reviewers for not liking Army of Two. These days, they have clickbait articles.

Well, looks like reviewers aren't treating Fates like it's 1 game split into 3 pieces either, haha.....

So far Revelations looks like to be the best one, but it's sold as DLC...

=/

Well yeah, Revelation IS the best one...because it's the only one where the story is canon.

The other 2 are "what if" scenario.

I dunno if any of them would be considered canon. It's another "What if?" scenario. It is Fire Emblem 'If' afterall xD

Odd... conquest seems to be reviewing better.

Glad I made the choice to play Conquest first!

Looks like the games are being treated separately...which seems to make sense based on the differences between the two. I probably won't be playing till next week...but man I'm psyched for this!
