Forums - Nintendo - Reviews for Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright/Conquest/Revelations! BirthRight 87 / Conquest 89

That's the thing with reviewers these days. They set their minds on expectations when reviewing and hate it when they have to do their job by keeping an open mind.

Actually, iirc, a different person reviewed Conquest than reviewed Birthright at GameSpot.  Which is utterly stupid as that means they aren't even providing a cohesive opinion on the whole package.

I'm surprised some publications reviewed all three versions separately, but I approve!

It should be, Especially when Birthright and Conquest are completely different games :o

I think that Revelation should be scored separately because it's DLC, but separating out Black/White is just dumb.

I haven't been following this game but is this Nintendo doing like a "Pokemon" with FE?

I think they should have done 3 reviews with different people.
- Birthright (Person A)
- Conquest (Person B)
- Special Edition: B/C/R (Person C)

Because theres users that would either play B/C first/only, and theres users who would get everything in Day 1.

This will be weird to compare....... But thats alright because "Reviews are just opinions of 1 single player".

So far Revelations looks like to be the best one, but it's sold as DLC...

No. More like Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

Well yeah, Revelation IS the best one...because it's the only one where the story is canon.

The other 2 are "what if" scenario.

IGN Conquest 9.5
IGN Birthright 9.4
What made the 0.1 difference??

They're different approaches to the Fire Emblem franchise, so it makes perfect sense to review them separately.

If the point of the review is to inform people about whether or not they should buy the game, you can't inform people about whether they should buy conquest by playing Birthright, because you can't really say anything about whether or not the difficulty is too unforgiving for newer players.

If you have to play both to be able to review them, then it makes perfect sense to review them separately.
