The game is fantastic. Reviewers will take a shot at anything they can for clicks. The fact that this is a console exclusive puts an even bigger target on its back.

If you wanna talk about targets, well you should see how the interest talks about Xbox exclusives. But I lets not get into that...

Critics are just reviewing the product as it is NOW. Not what it has the potential to be.

Hypothetically, if someone is new to Street Fighter, would you recommend Ultra SFIV for $25 or SFV for $60? One game has a ton of characters and significantly more features. The other is... a work in progress.

Forza 5 was criticized while Forza 6 was praised. You want me to explain why?

The problem is the method of the review process for the way they are releasing the game (particularly metacritic and GR).  The game is getting the content patched in and we were all informed of this prior to release.  Instead of just delaying the game, those who wanted to play the finished content can play the game now.  Furthermore more content will be released beyond that for free as well.

If the reviews were to change the overall metas (because people are sheep and read way too much into the opinion of a few people mire than the quality of the game itself) then there would be no issue.  The problem is that won't happen, and no matter how good the game gets it will always have a false score presentation to those who do not know better.

It is a touchy situation for sure, but conventional reviewing of a game like this is not accurate at all.  What they should have done was a form of progressive reviews, so that people would know what content is available now vs later on down the road with a final score released after the first few updates so we will know if they kept their word about how they will go about this.

As for your comment of X1 targets, no one said that this is something that does not happen on X1 as well.  Since you brought it up though, critics are certainly harder on Sony than they are MS so even bringing the X1 into this is pointless.

My logic isn't flawed, but SFV's lack of content is. That's why it isn't scoring great.

His comparision is using the exact same line your claim did.
"Why pay more on SF V if I can get SF IV for less with a lot more content" is exactly mirrored by his "Why pay more on XBO if I can get 360 for less with a lot more content", also about both past products being the best for people new to it and later product dropping price and getting more content after some time.

So yeah, your logic is flawed.

But then the last part is true, it's lacking content, it's getting backslash, that's about it.

But with 360 and X1 you can get complete games. Lots of them, that comparison is too broad.

You dont get a complete game with SFV and it wont be for a while. So if you never played Street Fighter IV or V before, Go with USFIV. That was my point.

Critics are giving SFV modest scores because they remember how deep SFIV was. The oriignal launch of SFIV also had more stuff and core gameplay is much the same. In a way, that makes SFV almost unnecessary to many casual players.

Well we all know these reviews represent where the product is at launch. But the game will be constantly discussed by new updates coming every month.

I dont believe critics are harder on Sony. I say that as someone who plays many games from both MS and Sony.

snip.

SFIV, to me, wasn't as enjoyable. Despite the lack of modes, SFV's core gameplay is better. Tighter. Feels much like Street Fighter III, which is a huge plus (which is mainly where I feel that SFIV tooks steps back).

Hate to be a "me too" poster but this is the way I feel. You can have a screen full of characters to choose from in IV but the 16 characters in V all feel infinitely better to control. Everything is smoother and more precise and the experience feels deeper for it. I also love the improvements in art.

Hm, dropped a few points since I last checked.

I'll come back in a week or so to see where settles at.

Dammit, shoudl already cut some points from it then

Or add some points

It seems the people buying it aren't happy with the experience they are getting so far. User score on Metacritic is 3.4 right now and is rated 2.2 from amazon buyers so far. The model they chose to release this game doesn't work for their fan base.

Many of those low score coming from angry X1 fan who cant get they hand on it.
