From what I've heard, Conquest is one of the best Fire Emblem overall, so sorry but I'm gonna dig.

Yes I been checking on the Japanese! Pls God I'm ready but I'm playing  birth right first!

We can talk about the scenario if you want! It's easy, you need the 3 versions if you want the full story with all infos and the true ending. So story-wise, it's not 3 games but one. And one pretty bad story from what I've read...

But yes, it would be great if this new thing was not supported by the gamers. The overpriced DLCs of Awakening have been accepted, the Amiibo DLCs are accepted, now the games cut in three for more money are accepted... Well, some people can accept anything when it's from Nintendo, and Nintendo knows that. They know thanks to that how to make money without a good-selling console and with less games, good for them.

It's still 3 full games. You need to buy all 3 metroid prime games and all 3 Uncharted games to Get the full story too right?

What ? No you don't ! For Uncharted at least, I didn't play Metroid Prime so I don't know.

Each game has its own story and can be played separately, it's not "Oh, you played Uncharted 1 ? Too bad, you need to buy Uncharted 2 and 3 to know who is the bad guy and what happens to him".

Well fine, Halo 2 and 3 are needed to get the full story and that's $120 US new for significantly less content in terms of raw numbers than FE Fates.  Or even better, you need Xenosaga 1, 2, and 3 for the fullish story and that's even more money.  And that was only half the plan.

I think his point is still valid, raw numbers is a poor way to judge value.  And the OP is misleading.  Both Conquest and Birthright are equal, the new content issue only applies to the second one you purchase which is half off anyway.  Taken in a vacuum, each is equal to the other.  Both are equally viable starting points from contents perspectives.

splitting the content seems a bit too much for Fire Emblem, but it is optional anyway.

The whole FE characters in Smash are a little too much for the franchise...... But I would gladly take more pokemons in! XD

You know which two things pop up way too infrequently in Fire Emblem Fates discussions?

1. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
2. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

Two games that only offer a true ending when played one after another. Nintendo charged full price for each cartridge.

But instead of this most logical example for something similar, people start to bring up Pokémon or trilogies of games.

Pretty much this. I brought it up in another thread, but apparently no one must have played those games.

The games have individual stories, and the content of each rivals the precedent set by the most recent entry. It's honestly why I'm excited. I had to wait 6 years for one new entry after FE10...and now only three years and I get two new games instead. Definitely a win for me.

NNID: Zephyr25 / PSN: Zephyr--25 / Switch: SW-4450-3680-7334

From the reviews i've heard, there seems to be a lot of differences between the games and even your goals in each battle. It seems like it will be worth the purchase of multiple games especially if you get the download for the second at half price.

I totally agree.

Honestly, I played 146 hours of FE:awakening. If I get the same out of all the content of the new games, that's fine. To me thats still a great value. I definitely could get more hours, which is fine by me.

It's a spectrum, which seems the best way to describe it.

Ages and Seasons are on the spectrum of full games which, when played together, offer additional content.

Pokemon is on the other end of the spectrum where it's virtually the same game, but when played together, offer some additional content (crossing pokemon over).

Fates is somewhere in the middle. A decent portion of different content, some mostly the same, and in some cases much of the same, and offers additional content when all entries are played in tandem.

If From a scale of 1-10, 1 being Pokemon and 10 for LoZ Ages+Seasons, fates is around an 8. Definitely not in the middle. FE shares first 5 chapters (which are the beginners chapters basically) and the same universe. Playing both games will easily be completely different which isnt the case for pokemon.

Most important part is the actual game layout, which birthright and conquest differ in so many ways :0

I was under the impression if you buy one you get the other at a reduced price online. Seems a far better content and pricing model compared to Pokemon x/y.
