Each version of Fire Emblem Fates does not have as much content as Awakening.

What ? No you don't ! For Uncharted at least, I didn't play Metroid Prime so I don't know.

 

Each game has its own story and can be played separately, it's not "Oh, you played Uncharted 1 ? Too bad, you need to buy Uncharted 2 and 3 to know who is the bad guy and what happens to him".

Well fine, Halo 2 and 3 are needed to get the full story and that's $120 US new for significantly less content in terms of raw numbers than FE Fates.  Or even better, you need Xenosaga 1, 2, and 3 for the fullish story and that's even more money.  And that was only half the plan.  

I think his point is still valid, raw numbers is a poor way to judge value.  And the OP is misleading.  Both Conquest and Birthright are equal, the new content issue only applies to the second one you purchase which is half off anyway.  Taken in a vacuum, each is equal to the other.  Both are equally viable starting points from contents perspectives.
