After seeing what Platinum did with the shooter segment of Bayo 2, I have no worries about Star Fox. I'm more concerned about what Nintendo interference is doing to the game.

| RolStoppable said: I have to tell you that you have a problem when you can't acknowledge to be wrong when confronted with irrefutable evidence. I am not interested in going into all specifics of your discussion with noname2200, but when something is so clear cut as the first Star Fox game being entirely on rails and you can't accept it, then yes, you do have a problem. I picked the Master Rol tag myself. |
Between me and noname2200, the only one who presented any info for anything was me. In fact, in my first response to noname, I implored that Star Fox evidence be posted. In my second response, I said again that should have been done. So first off, no, I wasn't confronted with irrefutable evidence because I wasn't even confronted with any. The only one denying irrefutable evidence was when noname claimed I did misread put words in the OP's mouth for a completely seperate argument, which when I detailed... noname didn't acknowledge it. I never said the original was not entirely on rails, I specifically said 'simply'. The game I said wasn't entirely on rails was Star Fox 64 because it isn't and I go into detail about both of these things. There were several times on this site I was wrong completely or someone's point(s) were superior to mine and I recognized it. There was one guy who I extensively told that guns would never be in Smash months ago, and if I remember who it was I know I would sure to tell him/her they were right after all because my stance is irrefutably wrong. I even had to correct myself 2 or 3 times in various degrees when noname pointed out something I said that was off or didn't make sense. I'm cool with being wrong, but what I'm not cool when there is a claim I either said something wrong or implication I said smething wrong when I never said it.
Outside of that, I'm looking at the tag and I swear it says troll not Rol. Not sure if its suppposed be a subtle tounge and cheek thing or something, but its pretty cool you're able to make one.

Given the cult hit ikaruga eventually became on GameCube (arcade and Dreamcast vers barely leaving Japan). I'm surprised Nintendo didn't commission an Ikaruga 2 after they had finished with Sin and Punishment 2.

Some yes, but most of it is "feel". Take Wooly World for example. It's a fine game and my and my daughter enjoyed playing through it, but I never felt like it had that Nintendo atmosphere. Something about the music was off. Turns out, the composer worked for feel-good, which was the developer behind the game. Sometimes it works out (DKC/Metroid Prime) other times, not (Starfox Adventures). |
I'm not sure if Retro's games technically count as outsourcing since they are a first party Nintendo developer.
But I agree as far as Starfox Adventure not working. In my humble opinion, every Starfox game since 64 has been shite.
