They are at over 250m as of June 3, 2015.

Skylanders are really another kind of beast. They are cheaper I think though.

I think about the same, Skyland struck gold. Nintendo needs it's killer app for amiibo which hasn't happened at all. Imagine a kingdom Hearts game with amiibo :p

I think this is why Nintendo didn't want to get in on the Skylanders deal. They didn't wanna share those profits off these things.

I have the ssb set as well as mario/splatoon/Yoshi. So over 70 I think right now. Lost count lol. Only ones I didn't want was the Skylanders ones (ewww)

That's kind of interesting. Why the increase? Nintendo indicated that they wanted Amiibo to reach children and to bring in new consumers but instead hardcore Nintendo fans and collectors were the primary consumer group. What was Nintendo's individual Amiibo output like during this period? Could this indicate that Amiibo reached outside the normal Nintendo fan group?
