Wii U is holding out a bit better than expected considering 9 out of the last 10 days the console wasn't available (and still isn't right now) at Amazon Japan

Considering the console got 3 new releases this week, the PS4 numbers feel actually a bit low

Vita is doing alright, nothing spectacular but not at all bad, either.

Since when Amazon Japan represents the whole Japanese market?

Also why PS4 numbers feel a bit low? Kiwami is also available on PS3 and it sold actually decent there (60k). Did you expect that people would buy a PS4 only for Kiwami when they can play it on PS3? Let's also consider that a Yakuza HD Collection was released some years ago and it sold very good. Expect maybe if you thought a game like Just Cause 3 could cause a PS4 bump.

Nice hold for PS4 and not bad numbers for PS Vita.
Really hope to see a huge boost next week with Dragon Quest Builders!
Yakuza with a great opening!
Minecraft now at 630k+ sold retail!!!

I don't even think Amazon Japan is tracked lol.

Amazon in japan isn't a big retailer.

Considering Yakuza Kiwami has a PS3 version and a PS3 HD remaster of the original Yakuza 1 and 2. The fact it sold that a lot means great things for Yakuza 6 which should be the one actually selling systems not Kiwami.

Ps4 finally pulling away from the ps3 in Software sales, i think its about time the x1 was discontinued in Japan....52 units sold lol its seriously depressing.

What crowd did you expect these new releases to draw in that wasn't already on the console?

3rd Yakuza game; 2nd Resident Evil game and another western open world game.

Audience for this stuff is already there.

Again big hardware differences between trackers. I think I'll believe Media Create this time.

I agree to all except the Yakuza audience. I don't think it fully went to PS4 yet. PS3 sold more than i thought it would. 60K is a decent debut for a PS3 game. I don't think any PS3 games debuted with more than 50k last year expect DQH, Tales of Zestiria and MGSV.

These 3 games helped the transition for the audience to PS4 but it's clear it's still not there. Yakuza 6 will be the real test. If it debuts with 300k+ we could finally say that the audience is there now.

Great week for PlayStation!

Wii U vs PS4:
Ps4 doubling the Wii U now. This time last year the PS4 did 13k and the Wii U 7k. So the ratio of nearly doubling it is similar just the overall sales have gone up so the weekly gap has actually doubled!

YTD on Famitsu ps4 is up 100% YOY. Can't use media create because they've got an extra week for last year.

Also on Famitsu the Wii U is back below 10k. Ouch.  At least this week might be rock bottom but you never know.

In other news x1 sold 52. Wow.

The X1 always sells very little and still managed to have the biggest % weekly drop (I think)? That's one hell of a feat.
PS4 flat as I said last week. Probably flat again next week
